Cooked breakfast was perfect .
We don’t eat meat so l opted for eggs and my husband for the full veggie breakfast which included veggie sausages . Something l would never normally consider .
Persuaded to have a taste can only say they were so exceptional that l asked for the make and will go and buy some . Try them , they are fab!
The disabled toilet facilities were , unusually, very user friendly and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly .
Very dog friendly
The most perfect location.
Thrre was absolutely nothing to dislike.
Great Location for walks
Staff friendly and helpful
Food great
Stayed in Shepherd's Hut - tea & coffee provided suggest maybe a tea towel, dish cloth and a small washing up sachet to help
We had a last-minute overnight booking, The staff were polite and welcoming, and the bed was comfortable. There are local walks for dogs in a booklet in the lobby with easy to follow instructions.
We were a late arrival but still managed to get food.
No
Very clean shepherds hut with added bonus of a TV comfy bed with good linen and towels
good shower and good decor and lovely carpentry
Food available at pub (no cooking or BBQ facilities at hut)
good ethos in garden ie fruit and herb planting good to chat to the gardener (and his squirrel)
The positioning of the hut is on a walkway from the car park and the view is not great
It overlooks the side of the pub which is close (no grass around the hut) but the worst part is the extremely loud noise from the kitchen fan which is on until approx 9pm and comes back on before 8am next morning
There is little to no space around the hut it was a really sunny day but the hut was in shadow from 3pm so had to use beer garden (lack of space around the hut anyway)
The young waiting staff should be told to wait until customers have finished their drink before asking for the glass !!! Especially as we were not shy to go and get replacement drinks fairly quickly
I am a dog friendly person but at breakfast every time staff came out of the kitchen they fussed the dog I can't be sure that hands would be washed every time
However the girl with the long dark hair at breakfast was very pleasant
The staff, the space and the food!
It was difficult to sleep because of the footsteps above our room in the early hours
Breakfast was great. Lovely food and nice staff
We were in a shepherd’s hut which was nice, however they desperately need to have nets up on the windows as the huts are overlooked by the beer garden customers and therefore we had to keep our curtains shut in the day. Very gloomy
Ideal location, family friendly, great food , staff are fantastic
Stunning setting, clean and spacious rooms
Both excellent
Nothing except i had disability issues found the stairs difficult
Brilliant stay all staff really friendly food out the pub is really nice comfortable beds
We stayed in a hut and was woken really early from bottles being emptied and trolleys being pushed past the hut also £15 for dogs to stay other places we stay normally get a little sumthin for the dog
Nice big room, modern, AMAZINGLY comfortable bed. Location is great although roads to it are very narrow. Restaurant was very popular with locals.
Accomodation was great but food was lacking. Evening meal, although good quality and well cooked, it was pretty tasteless.
Breakfast was very greasy, eggs just tasted of oil.
I would definitely stay again as room and location was great, but I would not bother with breakfast.
Also, could do with music or a radio playing at breakfast, so guests dont have to overhear staff complaining about managers.
Eric & Tracey are amazing hosts, staff are friendly and attentive, really can’t fault this place. Food, awesome
Stayed a couple of times now. Absolutely love the friendliness the food and everything really. We'll be back
Nothing!
Location
Food was excellent
Staff were very helpful
Imaginative use of grounds and interesting wildlife
Was difficult to park but in fairness it was a very warm day. I reported this to staff and got immediate help so really not a problem.
Could not get shower to work. Realised there was a switch in bedroom but still did not heat up water after one hour. Also only one towel in bathroom (for 2 guests) and no bathmat
Beautiful rural location in the beautiful Peak district. Good food and friendly staff.
The suite was not as private for the sleeping arrangements as we had thought. The ensuite facilities were off of one of the bedrooms rather than independently accessible from both.
Location was great
Lots to keep kids entertained
Food was really good
Staff were friendly
There was an issue with gas so didn’t get to have a full English breakfast. They were apologetic and there was plenty of toast and cereal but nonetheless disappointing.
