The restaurant was great and the staff was excellent
The room was very small, pillows were rock hard, and the green light was on all night from the emergency light. Didn't sleep properly for two nights.
Location was lovely
Room was basic for the price no air conditioning
Having used this place before, we were very happy with everything that this hotel had to offer
We had used this hotel before, and booked two rooms, we travelled over 70 miles to arrive at the hotel
We were advised by the hotels receptionist to pre book a table for the following mornings breakfast as it was fathers day
There was Nine of us for dinner, and we had pre booked a table
At 8.00pm a member of staff informed us that we would need to hurry up as they required our table in 15 minutes
At this time we had not finished our deserts, and did not have the opportunity to order Coffee or Teas
We requested to speak to the restaurant manager, who eventually came to speak to us, his name was Ross
I can understand the restaurant position, however the way that it was handled was very unprofessional
Why were we not advised at the time of booking that there was a limited time for restaurant tables, we never had this problem when we used this restaurant in the past, and if the service had been quicker we may have finished our meal earlier
I asked Ross if it was possible if he could find us a table in the lounge for 9 people, his reply was no chance as there was a wedding reception on and the lounge was full
As a result our friends were left with no other alternative but to go home at approx. 8.45PM
This trip had been planed for months, everyone was looking forward to meeting up again, only for it to be spoiled by the above dining experience
very welcome reception when I arrived but then no-one on reception by the time I had my evening meal, including no one there the next day when I left. Was a note to say see someone at the bar but it was a v busy bar/noisy and staff were busy. Maybe this was just that night and usually reception staffed.
Just wanted to ask reception how to turn on heating/towel rail so in the end and also to tell them that the basin wasn't draining very well.
The bar staff were lovely. Just an issue with my meal as the fish wasn't off but wasn't fresh. The waiter apologised but nothing offered in exchange and really didn't eat much of my meal. Wasn't wanting a free meal but offer of something else would have been good. everyone else dining seemed to be having a good time and enjoying their food.
But thank you-the room was lovely, the beds very comfortable, plenty of towels and a very friendly atmosphere. I will go back but will ask about the heating when I arrive!
as above
Breakfast was simple, small packets of cereal, juice which wasn't a problem.
Had to ask for toast and they weren't sure if there was marmalade.
teapot only filled half way
Just felt I was been given the minimum.
Just very limited compared to breakfasts offered elsewhere. wouldn't put me off staying but at least I know for next time.
Really attentive staff. Rooms very nice (esp for the cost). Bar area & restaurant both very nice decor. Food (both breakfast & dinner) served quickly, and both were very tasty.
No complaints.
Room was large, clean and very good quality. Evening meal was excellent and good value for money. Breakfast was fantastic and my first taste of Haggis, Bloody lovely! And I was I'd of known that a complimentary round of golf could be included, I'd of brought my clubs!
Absolutely Nothing in my opinion. Hotel has got it spot on!
Loved everything about it! except we had a room in the wee bungalow so ment going outside to our room, only small fault though everything else was lovely...food yummy,!
A great experience from start to finish - a very high quality establishment and I would most definitely stay here again.
We stayed at Dalziel Park Hotel for 3 nights as we were visiting family who lived locally.
The room located in the cottage was comfortable, reasonably quiet & conveniently close to the main building where the bar and restaurant was located. We ate in the main restaurant 2 nights & were joined by family for a meal & drinks on 1 of the nights (very useful as restaurant & bar open to non residents). The food (dinner & breakfast) was excellent and portions very generous. The service was friendly & very good overall. The lounge bar was extremely busy on the Saturday night & had a great atmosphere on the weekend prior to Xmas.
Overall, a brilliant experience from start to finish — we’ll definitely be back!
Nothing
Very nice hotel and good sized rooms.
Thought it was a little expensive.
2nd time staying here and we would definitely return again. The staff are fantastic, so polite and friendly. The room really comfortable and clean. Everything needed for a work stop over. Shower really good and powerful and the food in the restaurant was fab (dinner and breakfast)
Very minor points - The room we stayed in this time was quite small and very warm, even with the radiators turned off. No option at booking to not have breakfast.
Room was too small
Room was lovely and big along with en suite, breakfast was great, full scottish breakfast was big and tasted amazing
Nothing
