Pros:

The grounds that the hotel is situated in. We had the the executive bungalow which was good. Nice and quite and big enough room.

Cons:

Perhaps a bit more variety for breakfast like crossiants fruit salad and soda bread.

Room with a view
Pros:

Pretty surroundings.

Cons:

Room 15 was absolutely awful. Tiny, you couldn’t swing a cat in there. The ceiling was one of those suspended office-style ceilings with office style LED lighting which made it feel even worse, but you needed such bright light with the bins blocking the natural light from the window.

We couldn’t even open the windows because bins were jammed right up against them. The room was boiling hot, and between the noise from the bins/workers and the heat, we barely slept.

To top it off, we were charged £18 for a pint and a glass of wine. This is Pontefract, not London — the same drinks would usually cost under £10.

Definitely never coming back.

Not what I expected
Pros:

The staff in the restaurant were very friendly.

Cons:

I asked for a room on the ground floor, but had to go up and down stairs. They were notified I struggle with stairs. Also they do not cater very well for gluten allergies/intolerance. Only having the one frier for all food. This severely limits your options.

Pros:

Bungalow was great as always, clean, spacious, toiletries etc. Breakfast was great.

Cons:

The only negative now is the price of the shots! We're were shocked at Christmas to see they were £20 for 4, and by may £22 for 4, when you are paying for the stay and the entertainment/meal there should be some offers on the shots as that is very expensive!

The setting was good. Breakfast was good but the room itself could have been better.
Pros:

Location is good, outside looks stunning & large events areas look very good.

Cons:

Our shower room was very small, the water from the shower goes all over the floor, there are no shelves or hooks to put things. The fan did not work. There is no mirror in the bedroom. All small things to fix in themselves.
