Hotel La Quinta del Sol

This is a great little hotel which perfectly suits my needs. It is directly across from the beach and a fun surf break. You can walk to many delicious restaurants both fancy and casual. The food in Punta De Mita is outstanding. The room has an adequate kitchenette with utensils and cookware. I really enjoy making my own breakfast and watching the waves either before or after a morning session. The hosts of the Hotel Nico and Mary are so nice that I truly consider them friends. I can't wait to go back!

The room corresponds to the pictures, bed is comfortable but small. Threre is drinking water in the room which is a must for Mexico. Fridge, stove and some kitchen utensils are provided (no microwave). Check-in is a self-service with clear guidelines. Hotel is really located next to the beach just few steps down the road. The top roof terrace is nicely decorated and has a beautiful view to the sea. The terrace in front of the rooms is a common space but the view is nice as well. There are tables and armchiars where you can enjoy your breakfast, tea, etc. There is a beautiful restaurant Casa de pintor just 50 meters away. And there is a pizzeria in the same building (pizzas are tasty). The rest restaurants are about 10-15 mins walk. We liked the restaurant in the Coral hotel. It is big enough, faces the see, has good variety of food and descent price. Most of the restaurants nearby were quite expensive.

We had a relaxing fantastic stay with Nico and Mary. From our warm welcoming to our departure the hotel exceeded our expectations. We wanted to experience authentic Mexico and enjoy some “tourist activities” while not being overwhelmed with ‘do this, buy that’ and that is what we got. It is within easy walking distance to everything Punta de Mita has to offer. Beach, surfing, shopping, fishing, whale watching and more are just a few minutes away from their front door. The citizens are warm and welcoming. Service was excellent at the many dining options. Our time here was so enjoyed we have booked for 2026!

After years of visits to the La Quinta del Sol, this review is long overdue. The simple fact for my wife and I, is this is one of our favorite places on the planet, and we have come to feel like the hotel is "home". The La Quinta is both intimate and welcoming, the location in Mita is perfect as the beach is only steps away, numerous excellent restaurants are within easy walking distance, and as other reviews have stated, you are in an authentic town that is worth your time to explore and enjoy. Mary and Nico are amazing!!! They posses a wealth of knowledge and experience, and the incredible energy at the hotel is a direct reflection of their excellence as mangers, and their incredible human qualities. Whether you are searching for a place as your base for a surfing vacation, looking for a location that can support your love of Mexican cuisine, a relaxing home for exploring the north coast, or you just want to decompress at the hotel or read a book at the quaint beach club, I challenge you to find lodging that provides more value, charm, and aesthetic quality as you will find at the La Quinta del Sol. Counting the days until we return!

This is an excellent boutique hotel and is very close to the water. Management is very helpful and accommodating. The rooms and property are very nice and fresh. There are great views from every floor. We had a wonderful time here and would definitely return. Thank you Nico and Mary1

Wow!! I was amazed!! I came here with my family and LOVED IT! Nico and Mary are truly so genuine and great hotel managers. They are so easy to talk to and always available for any questions, etc. I felt very safe at this hotel and it is RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE BEACH! Super easy access. And OMG, the roof top is gorgeous. We loved going up there every morning to hang out in the hammocks or watch the sunrise, do yoga, etc. You have a giant view of the ocean. My favorite thing about this hotel is that it is more authentic to the culture of the town. It's more real. And it is walking distance from all the shops, best "feet in the sand" restaurants and all!

This was our second time vacationing in Punta Mita and this hotel was undoubtedly our favorite place we have stayed at. Everything about this stay (location, beds, showers, outdoor furniture, rooms, AC, cleaning and wonderful staff etc.) is superb. We hope to return in the near future!

Another PERFECT stay at Hotel LQDS! We have been traveling to Punta Mita for the last 12 years and have always stayed at this property. We love it; it's like a second home. The moment the gate opens and you walk in, you feel relaxed. The property is very clean, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the location is terrific. On top of all that, the hosts are two of the most lovely people who make you feel welcome and will help to answer questions, plan a massage or an excursion, make dinner reservations, etc. I am already excited about our next trip back!

We absolutely loved our stay at La Quinta del Sol. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The view from the balcony and rooftop is amazing! There are lots of nearby restaurants and adventures to enjoy, including surfing, boat excursions and visits to nearby towns of Sayulita…San Pancho. It’s relaxing to return to this quiet abode after daily excursions. We are planning our trip back and bringing family next time!

This was our first time at La Quinta Del Sol, we are already planning our return trip. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is very charming and very conveniently located. We loved hanging out on the hammocks, cooking meals and just listening to the sounds of the ocean and Mexico. The hotel is just steps away from the beach and surf, it was very easy and convenient to grab the surfboards from the garage and walk down to the beach. We also enjoyed walking and exploring the streets of Punta Mita. The hosts Neko and Mary were awesome. They were very helpful setting up transportation and giving recommendations. They also were very respectful of our space and our vacation “bubble”. One of the many highlights was a massage with a message therapist at the hotel, strongly recommend! Our vacation was awesome! Just sad it had to end.

We never want to stay anywhere else when we come to Punta de Mita! La Quinta del Sol is like a home away from home. Nico and Mary are such friendly, terrific hosts and can easily arrange anything you need, from airport transportation to massages. The rooms are neat as a pin, incredibly comfortable and the kitchens are stocked with everything you'd need to cook — plus, there are plenty of local bodegas where you can grab groceries. But if you don't want to cook, La Quinta del Sol is a super short walk from all of the best places to eat, including Theresa's Tacos and Norma's Tacos. And it's an even shorter walk to the beach! We love being able to rent surfboards, paddle boards, etc. from the garage downstairs and walking right down the stairs to the beach, where there's a surf break and private beach club area with nice beach loungers and shaded hammocks. This also means the views from your room and the hotel rooftop patio are incredible. Don't miss Saturday yoga on the roof — it's complimentary! — and be sure to bring a beach read to exchange in the hotel library. La Quinta del Sol has everything you need in one beautiful, convenient package. Like I said, why stay anywhere else?

Really enjoyed staying at La Quinta Del Sol! Upon arrival we were met by Nico and shown to our room. Both Nico and Mary were pleasant and helpful with our questions. The room was well maintained and clean ( maid service every day)
The rooftop deck has a spectacular view of the ocean……. we will be back!
