Disappointing stay-breakfast no longer provided
Cons:

I have stayed consistently at the Allerdale Court Hotel for over five years now, whilst away on business. I have always enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately, however, I rebooked this week, and they have stopped serving breakfast?? The hotel cost is still over £100 per night, and yet no breakfast. The hotel offered no explanation, only suggestions for cafeterias in the area. How a hotel can charge so much and not offer breakfast defines understanding. Unfortunately, I won't be staying again

Location was very good. Bathroom shower very good.

Cons:

Mattress needs replaced. Springs could be felt through the bed...or use thick Mattress topper.

Still relaxing and saw a lot of sites
Pros:

Property was very comfy, large rooms with modern furnishings aswell as timely features.

Cons:

For me in the family room we were facing the road, at night this got very loud with cars parking up and playing music. It kept my child up. The single glazing windows don’t really help but I learnt during my stay that majority of buildings in the area have single glazing.

Lovely location, nice building, but hard to classify it as a hotel
Pros:

Staff are friendly

Cons:

No beer/real ale/IPA on draft. Just larger. Had a large booking, spending a lot of money but wanted us in and out. Advertised breakfast- the place was deralict in the morning- with two small children, this isnt ideal. Booking.com states breakfast but nothing mentioned at check in.

An excellent base in Cockermouth which is a town well worth staying at.
Pros:

Friendly staff and excellent location. Comfy room with very good shower. I was out all day hill walking so this is all I needed really. I have stayed in Cockermouth twice now and it is a great town: not touristy and full of great pubs and restaurants, and an excellent base for exploring the Western Lake District.

Cons:

The hotel serves no breakfast. While Greggs is open from 6:00am I recommend going out to Cumbrian Baker, open from 7:00am weekdays and on the business park just the other side of the A66. They provide excellent locally sourced breakfast baps and sadnwiches for lunch.

Homely and cosy.
Pros:

The homely atmosphere.

Cons:

Not a big deal for me to be honest, but parking isn’t included in your stay. So you do have to pay for your overnight parking in a public car park.
