I stayed an extra night. On purpose!
Pros:

The owner(s)is/are honest! Speak it as it is. There is NO Visa or American Express ‘… or any of your American cards’! There is an ATM across the road. But, he is attentive and knowledgeable and ‘fun’. They seem brusque, but, they are being… efficient! The hotel is big and bright and clean. Patio to drink beer looking at the wooded hills. Restaurant and bar and a separate breakfast room. All pleasant. I found a wonderful little sunny rooftop patio and relaxed. There’s also a small guests lounge with piano and tele. And enough National Geographic magazines to build a house with.

My room was a good size. Two good sized single beds; one made up with a clean, crisp duvet. Huge pillow; too soft for me. Wardrobes, table and chair. Tele. Two big windows, so it’s nice and bright. Carpeted. It’s comfortable. The shower room has tiles from the 1970’s, but, was clean and the shower cubicle a good size. Bio soap.

Breakfast was the usual ‘continental’ fayre, but with Germanic breads. Plenty to chose from. Staff were good. As previous review you get a free bus pass! And maps from the man. The WIFI is good. Even on the patio.

Cons:

Crispy towels! More like exfoliants! It takes a lot of boiling to get them that crispy! No shower gel*. Luke warm water in the morning. The biggest toilet paper dispenser in the world right by your leg. The breakfast staff sat and ate their breakfast near me. The WIFI is good. BUT! It will ‘throw you off’ every time you do something else; but, rejoins quickly enough. Traffic noise from outside; especially motorbikes. But it pretty much stops at night. No restaurant or bar after 17:00 on a Sunday. I liked the place and stayed an extra night. Don’t take their honesty as rudeness! * I asked and was given.

Very good
Pros:

The hotel provided everything necessary for a comfortable stay. There was a good shower, large bed, ventilated room and it was very clean. Breakfast was included. The staff were friendly and efficient and the manager kindly provided details of local cycling trails when he found out that was why I had come to the area. There was also a complimentary bus pass included which allowed travel to the towns of Bad Wildbad and Höfen an der Enz. I have added a couple of photos from an area above the hotel/village.
