Overall, fine but disapponting compared to what’s advertised
Pros:

The location, very central to Old town.
The place when you enter is actually a flower shop, so it does smell good but doesn’t look like the pictures at all. So forget about the cafe boutique vibe

Cons:

The non access to the pool, it was one of the main reasons I booked that place so it was quite a disappointment.
The staff was not helpful at all, not welcoming at all. It seems like it’s the staff of the florist shop and they have nothing to do with the hotel.
The bathroom was not clean and when I arrived there were some half dead cockroaches on the floor.

Pros:

I would describe my stay at Isara Boutique Hotel and Café as mixed — not terrible, but not my favorite either.

On the positive side, I really liked the interior design. The entrance lobby is very cute with lovely decorations, and I especially enjoyed the pond with the koi fish in the lobby — it was incredibly relaxing to sit there and watch them. The location in Old Town is also very good and convenient. A small detail I appreciated was the complimentary green roll cake, which happens to be my favorite — that was a nice touch. The room itself was nicely decorated with a comfortable bed and overall cute interior.

Cons:

However, there were some downsides. The reception experience felt rather cold and unwelcoming. When I arrived (a bit stressed and sweaty from the heat), I had to wait several minutes before the door was opened, and the check-in process felt very formal and distant rather than warm. The staff were not openly unfriendly, but it felt more like an obligation than genuine hospitality.

The next day I asked about using the pool and was informed that it is only available for guests in higher room categories. While I understand that policies are policies — and perhaps I could have avoided the disappointment with more research — it still felt a bit discouraging.

I also casually mentioned that it was my birthday during my stay, and there was no reaction at all. Of course, I didn’t expect anything special, but even a simple “happy birthday” would have felt thoughtful.

Additionally, the room had a slightly unpleasant smell when I checked in, and I had to air it out and use incense to make it more comfortable.

Overall, the hotel has a charming design and a great location, but the service felt lacking in warmth. With a bit more attentiveness and hospitality, the experience could have been much better.

Glad we stayed here's
Pros:

Nice building in town but very quiet inside. The entrance is a florist shop no longer a cafe. We had a suite with balcony. Helpful staff. Very clean.

Cons:

Our balcony had very high walls so couldn't see out onto street. Strangely there was a bath on our balcony! It was plumbed in but it could be seen by another room so we didn't use it 🙂

Lovely hotel Phuket Old Town
Pros:

Loved the location in the Old Town Phuket. A must see part of Phuket. Friendly helpful staff and we had a big clean room.
Huge beds and plenty hot water and fresh drinking water.
Would recommend.

Cons:

The photos are quite outdated as we were excited to see hotel had a pool but it doesn't.
Its private for one suite only l.
It was one reason we booked. Also there is no longer a cafe there.
There isn't a lift which isn't a biggie however there isn't a handrail on the steep stairs which would be much safer when carrying luggage.

Schön Unterkunft im Herzen der Old Town!
Pros:
