Malekus Mountain Lodge

Als Zwischenstopp zum Nationalpark Rincón de la Vieja haben wir uns für diese Unterkunft entschieden und können es zu 100% weiterempfehlen!

Roger ist sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Der Pool hat uns nach der Wanderung erfrischt, auch den Sonnenuntergang konnten wir von seinem Grundstück aus bewundern. Am nächsten Morgen haben wir ein sehr leckeres Frühstück erhalten!

The time I spent at the Lodge was very relaxing, the grounds were beautiful and the food was excellent! My host, Roger and his wife Rosa made me feel very at home and welcomed. Rosa makes the best breakfast in Costa Rica!
I forgot a ring that my father had given me and Roger went out of his way to send it back to me, thank you Roger!
These are wonderful people! I plan on returning!

Malekus Mountain Lodge was absolutely lovely. Roger and Rosie went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They prepared a wonderful breakfast and were so, so friendly and gracious. Their property is gorgeous and the rooms are comfy. I particularly like the little walking path around the property and the fireplace that Roger helped me light in the common area. This place is an absolute gem and I would definitely stay there for longer next time and recommend it to others. Ps. If you need a hair dryer, just ask Roger. They don't have them in all the rooms, but they do have them. 😍 Thank you for the lovely stay, Roger and Rosie! 🙏❤️

The owners met me upon arrival and couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. Their home and land were beautiful, with the feel of a historic bed & breakfast set in the countryside. Everything about my stay was exemplary. The home was immaculate, comfortable and ideal for anyone who appreciates a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. The expansive property allowed me to go for a long hike in the beautiful mountains before winding down with a delicious dinner at the local restaurant. I would certainly stay again if my travels took me back to the area.

The location is exactly what I wanted when I was trying to get away from major cities but be able to commute to larger attractions. The nearby city has a super market and a few good restaurants for those looking to get away from the touristy parts of Costa Rica.

The property is rather mysterious when you arrive and then it’s a pleasant surprise to see the quality of the facilities out in the country like this. Roger and his wife are tremendous hosts. We were fortunate. We were one of only two or three guests and had the entire property to ourselves, including the pools.

Property is very unique

Roger and Rosie were the most amazing hosts. So kind and informative. The property was a beautiful lodge embedded in the rainforest. This was a beautiful introduction to the less touristy side of Costa Rica. The rooms were spotless, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast included was amazing. We were able to visit hot springs, hike in the rainforest , swim in the pool at the lodge and enjoy the local restaurants and cuisine. It was a perfect three day kick off to our adventure in Costa Rica. We were two couples.

Our stay was an exceptional experience. Roger and Rose were super kind and helpful giving ideas for places to visit, where to eat etc. One of the highlights was the breakfast, every day with fresh fruit juice and varied costarican food. Malekus is located in a stunning location surrounded by nature at its best. Definitively highly recommendable!!

Absolutely amazing place. Roger and Rosie so very attentive. Swimming pool excellent. Hiking trails very accessible. Groceries nearby good. Included breakfast whatever you want. Definitely would stay there again.

Beyond Amazing.
Quiet, peaceful , lush surroundings with beautiful amenities. The family obviously has a great love and respect for their home and property.

Rosie and Roger made us feel at home in this comfortable B&B in the pretty countryside near the village of Aguas Claras. Very peaceful and quiet during the day, but noisy at night as we fell asleep with a loud chorus of frogs out our window along a rushing mountain stream. Rosie and Roger attended to our every whim. Offering us rubber boots with which to hike their 40 hectare rain forest, etc…

Beautiful house in a beautiful location with excellent service and delicious breakfasts from don Roger and doña Rosi!
