Good position, friendly staff
Food was good, bar area was nice and comfortable.
When booking we didn't realise it was a Alpha hotel.
Great location, excellent parking, nice room.
No ac or fan so was a hot stay, not really a fault of hotel
Bob
Hhh
Good location, easy to find and to park.
Good breakfast and the picnic lunch offered was very good as well
Breakfast isn't seeved until 8am which is a tad late if you want to get out and about. The room was very small indeed and the temperature management made sleep difficult, granted its summer but surely theres more to do than provide a desk fan.
Good location, nice breakfast
Upon arrival twin room which I booked was not available only small double which wasn't suitable as travelling with my son as a treat. No alternative room despite being handed tge key to an already occupied room. No spare mattress available for floor. Had to travel go find pump up airbed. I slept on floor, compensation offered covered cost of bed, pump and £10 off room rate which wasn't ok. Manager had left even before I returned with the inflatable bed. On the whole the hotel was ok but organisation and management poor. Wouldn't reccomend.
Overall the atmosphere was gentile and felt like a proper old time sea side hotel.
the condition was good for such an old building and I would definitely stay again if I am in the area
I have no bad things to say . If I was to be extremely picky I could say that the hotel decor was a little tired but everything worked and was functional.
The breakfast was excellent value for £10. Included cereal, fruit, etc. And a good variety of freshly cooked English breakfast options - all fresh (not sitting around in a buffet) and served by cheerful staff. Well situated close to seafront.
Slight smell of staleness/mustyness in the corridor. (Not in the bedroom however)
Grounds and Gardens dull and bare ( but recognise there is ongoing heatwave and lack of rain)
Location, Sea view room.
They were short staffed, due to coach parties arriving. Phone hotel night before ask for early book in next day 1pm, were told could pay £10 desposit when arrived, were told room would not be ready till later.
Fantastic location, beds were very comfy. Clean.
Would definitely book again.
Staff weren't particularly friendly. Hence the 8 out of 10.
Location and staff great
The lack of Aircon in rooms was uncomfortable, given the current weather
Nice quiet location opposite the sea.
Nothing, only there’s no air conditioning in the rooms because of the hotel being old and listed.
The location was great. Clean. Quiet.
A little dated, hot.
Didn’t even get to stay :)
Sold our room to another customer before we arrived and was only informed when we were 9 minutes away from the hotel, and we called to re-confirm our arrival time. Was told by the receptionist (Ben) over the phone not to bother coming to the hotel as there was nothing he could do. We were refused a refund. Ben failed to offer alternative accommodation despite us informing him we were 3.5 hours away from home for a two day event. Ben was unsympathetic, stony faced with hostile body language and didn’t see it as his problem. This hotel left me and my son essentially on the street at 9pm on a Friday night to find alternative accommodation in an area with poor internet coverage. There will be an official complaint submitted to both booking.com and Head Office.
