The staff were friendly and very helpful.
The room was too small, noisy, hot and uncomfortable. The bathroom required upgrading.
Stayed before it’s a lovely place.
Kitchen closed T 7.30, now the staff did try to call me to check if I wanted to eat so o can’t fault them for that. But 7.30 kitchen shut seems very early. I arrived at 7.30 and they kindly kept the kitchen open for me to eat and my meal was enjoyable
The bedroom was standard small but has everything in you need. However. It was not as clean as the previous time I’ve stayed there were cobwebs above the bed on the ceiling and in the corners.
Room and bed was comfortable and clean. Tea and coffee facilities were good.
Had an issue with coming back at night as the hotel/pub main door was locked and we had to use the key provided to get in. However the door was sticking when we tried to close it
Quaint and set back off the road so away from a main noise of moving traffic. Old and nostalgic. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was filling great that you can also help yourself to tea, coffee toast and cereals until the hot breakfast arrives. Ate an evening meal there once out of the three days and the pie was really nice although the chips were really well overcooked so took the shine off it, but all in all enjoyed it.
Could do with a paint job here and there.Floors were very creaky on all levels and not great for disabled people. Up 3 flights of stairs to go down 1 steep flight of stairs to end up basically at a downstairs bedroom again, we were u fortunate one night to have a workman in a next door bedroom stomping in 23.00 and then banging every door in sight which was a pain when you have a very early start in morning but jo fault of the hotel.
Comfy rooms and lovely breakfast
Nothing really
All good food ok staff were good bfast particularly good and staf
but for us pensioners the bed was far too hard and uncomfortable v difficult to get a good night sleep,
Good value
Everything was ok
Good location, great food, friendly service, good value for money.
None
Good breakfast. Old world charm
Nothing
The breakfast quality was excellent, however it could have included fruit and yoghurt.
I knew I had booked a small double but I assumed that referred to the size of the bed and not the size of the room. The space between the end of the bed and the wall was really narrow and I had to walk sideways to get passed. Unfortunately the bedside cabinet and light were on the side which meant having to squeeze out every time I got out of bed!
Property was nice , little tired , could have done with a quiet room for residents to retire to with a drink and a book .
Needs a bit of cash and TLC
Last minute stay to join a hiking group at Langsett Barn for a Wolf Moon evening hike.
Cubley Hall is fantastic and I will definitely stay here again.
Staff were a delight, and made the stay very enjoyable.
After the hike we returned and had food, the Ribeye was a great cut and cooked to perfection.
Bed was firm and so comfortable
Breakfast was really good quality
Highly recommend
Nothing to report
The hall is set in its own grounds with plenty of car parking in a quiet rural setting just outside Penistone. Not too far from the M1 motorway (J37 Barnsley) or the A628 (snake pass). We had a one night stay in Room 10. Good spacious room with uninterrupted views beyond the well-kept grounds to the moors. Comfy bed and a large bathroom with shower over bath. Superb breakfast with plenty of choice for all. Either cold buffet or hot cooked dishes for all tastes. Didn't dine here in the evening but whilst in the bar we saw what looked like some very good stuff being served. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
Being super picky there were a few cobwebs in the corner of the ceiling. I know it's not much, but it counts.
Convenient and good location for our travels. Nearby park run option.
The triple room we stayed was clean and warm with comfy beds . It was quiet with a nice view.
The evening meal and breakfast were very good and the staff friendly and helpful.
Good value for money.
