Filthy dirty rooms, we immediately checked out again.
Pros:

We checked in and within 10 minutes were checking out again. The room was filthy, hairs and dust all over the table and where tea and coffee facility is, but old dirt - the room probably hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Blood on toilet and dregs of toothpaste in a glass. The room had the smell of febreeze sprayed over dirt. Beds didn't look inviting either. We left and found a hotel 5 minutes away luckily.

Cons:

Everything, it was filthy.

Overall nice but would expect better for the price

Food at dinner and breakfast underwhelming for the price and service very slow.
Breakfast had to be sent back as eggs and sausages over cooked. Ran out of items on the menu half way through service.

The creaking is usually my knees...
Pros:

A really good room. All as expected. Lovely bathroom and seating area. Lots of space. It was just a short stopover for us. In the daytime the location is very beautiful and is surrounded by good walks. I know the pub is decent for food.

Cons:

We were in Room 4. There was a room above. Every movement in the room above was so noisy in our room. Creaking joists and floorboards. I think there must have been an early hours visit to the loo above us and the noise of the person walking around their room woke us up. Not quite sure how you solve this in an old building to be fair, but disturbing nonetheless.

Great location, some great elements but room for improvement!
Pros:

Comfortable bed, fresh white sheets and large white towels. Refreshments of tea and coffee in the room.
Secondary sliding glazing keeps road noise to a minimum.
A male staff member on duty at breakfast 15/9/26 was very polite, seemed to be on his own, answering phones, taking orders, making coffees and serving. He is an absolute credit to Fox House. He is very polite and has a calm approach to being host.
Very good location for walks
Car park for patrons only and enter car reg on arrival.

Cons:

On arrival two female staff saw us waiting to check in but walked past us. The rooms are in a separate building across the courtyard. It was raining so we had to make a dash to the inn for breakfast.
Wi-Fi times out after a short period of time.
Room needs a deep clean, spiders, cobwebs and dead insects on the carpet under the raised chairs. Behind bathroom door again cobwebs, dead spiders and even a waste packet indicating the bathroom floor hadn’t even been cleaned. We moved the chairs to watch TV and it wasn’t good. Should have been vacuumed. Generally the room was dusty, and requires update of decor.
Shower tray very badly scratched, suspect this is from showering dogs? Never seen a tray so badly scratched.
No internal soundproofing so we could hear the room upstairs TV, flushing of toilet, shower and walking on floorboards.
Awaited more than 45 mins for breakfast yet sausages and eggs were overcooked.
