Location
Needs a restaurante on the site, showers needs to be updated, needs more information about the pool
The hotel is very well located. One hour from town Magico de Papantla Veracruz and the wonderful archaeological ruins of Tajin.
There are many hotels in the area, but this is definitely the best, excellent service and attention. The mini golf is incredible, there is camping area with access to electric power. The pool is a very good size. TIP Do not worry if the weather is not sunny, for visiting El Tajin on a cloudy day is the best !!, preventing moisture and sweltering heat.
We drive to Merida, MX, every winter and always book our second night at Torre Molino because it is not only a lovely resort on a gorgeous beach, but it also accepts small pets - which is a rarity in Mexican hotels. The grounds are just beautiful and immaculately groomed. The resort sits beachfront and the beach is never crowded - at least not in October or March when we drive through Costa Esmeralda. There is a nice restaurant on the grounds, but there are many excellent places to eat in the surrounding small towns, serving the freshest fish and seafood you could hope to find on the Gulf. The rooms are very basic, but comfortable and very clean, and we have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
We booked this hotel because of the good comments in tripadvisor and other websites.
Unfortunately, they totally betrayed our expectations.
Maybe because it was after Semana Santa (Easter week) and there were less guests, the staffs are very unfriendly and uncooperative.
1) they charged more than the one written in their website (normally hotels here give discounts if it is not holiday or high season)
2) the level of the hygiene is terribly poor. We got millions of mosquito and bug bites.
3) we asked the receptionist and the other staff if we can change the room, but they only repeated that they can't do anything without manager and manager is out... even though we went to ask several times. They didn't even try.
4) their beach was not clean at all.
They have relatively good facilities but if their service is terrible, it doesn't mean anything at all.
We Flew into Mexico City to pick up In-Laws and we Rented a Family van and Drove from Mexico City thru Puebla to Costa Esmeralda, Veracruz,(5 hour Drive, Toll roads very safe by the way, Let me start by saying This is Family Business owned and Operated:
The Rooms - They are very clean up to date, shower, beds very comfortable, we had a suite with 2 Queen Size beds, kitchen, breakfast table set and living room, sleeps 7-8 people, rooms were excellent.
The Service - They offer room service, they also have a restaurant, during high season they offer Breakfast buffet, otherwise the restaurant Is open from early in the AM till 9pm @ nite. The owners are on site 24-7 offering to accomadate your needs at all times.
Medical care: If you need medical assistance they have Medical Dr. just steps away that they can call 24-7, They offer FREE WiFi Service, they also have a Cocktail Bar inside main lobby along with bar tables and seating areas,
But most important this is a Hotel Where you want to go to get away from the hustling and busting of a City and wake up to the sounds of the birds and the sound of the waves against coming a shore....During our time here we stayed from Mon-fri, we never charged our Cel Phones, nor our laptop, never once checked email, Breathe 101% pollution free fresh air, intake fresh cooked natural food, No preservatives, fresh Fruit, fresh veggies, fresh Seafood.
This was our 1st time there and now we can't wait to go back again, were aiming for a Summer vacation.
We 110% recommend thsi Hotel, The Hospitailty, the exceptional service, the rooms, the Food, Everything was GREAT, Cant wait to go back..

We arrived at the Torre Molino following some of the advices posted on this page. I have to agree. It is a nice hotel on a very nice location, beach right in front, kilometers of it...
The room was comfortable and clean. Glad we went. We stayed four nights. There are all kinds of restaurants not too far away. Since we had rented a car, it was easy to roam around. We also went to the archaeological site of El Tajin. Not to be missed.
It is also true that the beach area between Nautla and Telacotla is much more interesting than the Veracruz area, where we also stayed.
