the bed was to soft and creaky
Very quirky, full of character, pleasant helpful staff. Great breakfast.
Rooms could have benefitted from a little more storage
The location, the hotel was charming, we liked the history of it. The staff were very friendly and professional... breakfast was great with plenty of choices...we dined in and the food was amazing, first class, varied menu, food fresh and cooked to perfection, shout out to the chef and staff. We would strongly recommend this place, we will definitely be returning in the future.....
No ... can't fault it..
Decent room, comfy bed, great bar and restaurant area with really good food
"Full Welsh breakfast" a bit sparse and much reduced from a few years ago.
Breakfast was very good and all staff very helpful
All good although one of the rooms didn't have a shower only a bath
Ensuite was lovely and roomy, food was great, staff were friendly and helpful.Restaurant was cosy.
Fruit selection in morning.
We’d booked a two nights stay, on the first night we ate in the restaurant. My husband was violently sick through the night (we shared a pizza lunch earlier that day in the village but ordered different things from the menu that evening). We believe it was the scallop starter that caused his sickness as it was searingly hot which would indicate it was possibly reheated in a microwave. The following morning I reported this to the manager/owner. He disputed our claim and stated that seafood poisoning only occurs 12 to 18 hours afterwards, this is in fact incorrect, it can occur as early as 30 minutes after consumption. This was in no way in attempt to get out of paying for the meal, in fact I settled the bill immediately as my husband was desperate to get home, cutting our stay a day short. I wanted to bring it to their attention so that somebody elderly or vulnerable wouldn’t end up far worse off. We’re disgusted by the lack of attention to public health. It’s such a shame because it’s a beautiful place and the other staff were absolutely lovely, we are beyond disappointed.
Nice location
Bed was a little bit squeaky.
I would like to return with a group of friends for the fishing nearby but it seemed all the tables were booked in advance even in the bar....as a fishing party we would like a more informal bar area to meet and drink at night.
Excellent Welsh food. The restaurant is quirky and cute with rich heritage.
The property was very cozy and comfortable and very clean and well presented. Dylan who was the son of the owners was a very polite and accommodating young man and the pleasure to speak to breakfast in the morning was very very nicely cooked a full English breakfast or should I say a Welsh breakfast? The location of the hotel was very nice. It was in a High Street of shops and places to eat and a central part of Snowdonia to explore From. Swallow falls which is literally five minutes up the road by car is a must to stop and say and it only cost £2 to enter and afterwards there is a lovely cozy pub selling nice food and drink drinks. It was our first visit to Snowdonia and we loved it so very much. We are hoping to return very soon.
Nothing.
Cosy, characterful hotel with good breakfast and dinner menu. Clean, comfortable bedrooms. Adjacent parking. Reasonably priced.
Traffic noise can be heard in the rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking the roadway.
Beautiful property, great location 10min walk into the centre of town, fantastic food and family run.
It is the second time I have stayed here and would certainly return. Staff were great and my idea of a proper pub/inn.
