Beautiful, comfortable and peaceful.
Pros:

Beautiful property, clean rooms and nice facilities.
There is a restaurant space where the Internet works, they will build you a nice cozy fire before you go to sleep.

Cons:

Internet is spotty and only works in the rifugio.

Very close to El Rosario and a truly rustic feel. Best for groups that have their own transportation
Pros:

Excellent food at the restaurant and clean, well-decorated room with cozy blankets for the colder atmosphere. Combi passing in the morning was very convenient for getting to the El Rosario preserve, just fifteen minutes away. As reviews mentioned rooms were quite cold in the mountains but the fireplace with wood brought by the hotel ($180 MXN) kept the room cozy.

Cons:

We were the only guests at the facility and overnight it appeared that staff left as well - we were unable to get in touch with any attendants for help including to get more wood for the room's fireplace, leaving us quite cold. We felt isolated and unsure what we would do in an emergency given that the rooms did not have any cellular service, WiFi did not reach the rooms, and the common area where the WiFi was strongest was locked overnight. We were told by the evening staff that the outdoor area would be lit up at night and in the morning we would be able to pay for breakfast by card, but both ended up not being true - it was quite dark, and bring enough cash to pay for the breakfast, wood, and dinner should you eat at the hotel. Reviews also noted that the staff would be able to help call taxis should we need but they were not able to help us with that. We ended up catching combis to the preserve and from the hotel back to Ocampo, but they passed infrequently so this location might be best for groups that are driving to the area and comfortable with a more remote stay.

La ubicación. Cerca del santuario de ma mariposa monarca

Cons:

Muy frío. Deberían tener cobijas nórdicas en lugar de amontonar varias de lana. Pesan mucho. El baño siempre dio un olor a cañería.
Compré una habitación familiar y Booking.com me envió una reserva de menor categoría que implicó molestias a la llegada.

The location was perfect to the reserves. It was a beautiful rustic property.

Cons:

The beds were very very uncomfortable. The rooms were cold and could be heated by a fire. However,. Because there were no International ATMs anywhere near the area we were running low on pesos and could not afford to pay the extra amount needed to put a fire in our room or eat dinner one night. It would be very helpful if they had an international ATM or took a credit card. So plan ahead

Rustic, natural setting with diversions and wonderful staff.
Pros:

Restaurant had fixed menu for each meal. Breakfast was pancakes, chilaquiles, huevos mexicanos, etc. Dinner typically had three house entree options with soup, dessert and coffee or tea. They accept US dollars and may also be able to provide a link to pay via credit card but this wasn't always an option. There was a small convenience store down the road with water and snacks. The grounds are beautiful with ducks, chickens and turkeys moving about. There are plenty of outdoor games (jenga, foosball, badminton, a trampoline) and places to sit peacefully which made it easy to spend the day hanging out on site (which we needed after traveling from sea level). Rooms are rustic but pleasant. Shower pressure was great and water was hot. The absolute best part is the staff. They are more than accommodating and were always able to help solve problems or get anything we needed. When we asked about bottles of water they offered to retrieve them from the convenience store, when it was a cold night they lit a complimentary fire in our rooms, they booked a taxi for us and when the ATM in town didn't work for our foreign debit cards, took us to a neighboring city to use the ATM there. Every request we ever made was received with grace. Rocio was particularly helpful and pleasant.
The new years celebration with live music was delightful.

Cons:

The rooms are quite cold in the winter. Even the fire in our room didn't quite cut the cold. Plenty of blankets made it more comfortable to sleep. Internet is only available in the restaurant but they do have an extensive collection of movies (mostly in Spanish) and DVD players in the rooms.

Pros:

Very kind and attentive staff! So lovely and helpful as we speak limited Spanish. The facilities were very authentic feeling and the hot water was excellent in the showers. They made fires in your room for warmth at night. The food was very tasty as well!
