re train or re hire front desk staff. no one seemed to want to work there. it's really ok to say " good morning", "welcome to the bishop, how can I help you?" or something similar instead of ignoring guests and barely smiling. check in felt like we were doing them a favor.
Great location in town.
Somewhat noisy in hotel near kitchen. Minimal facilities in hotel.
Location
Small bedrooms no lamp on one side, they provide kitchen with no washing up provisions. Would be nice if breakfast facilities opened earlier.
Lovely historic building in convenient location, friendly and helpful staff, onsite restaurant
Wish they had an option for a room with 2 queen beds available as we paid more for a suite for 3 of us which had a kitchenette we didn’t use, you had to go through the bedroom to use the bathroom, and the sofa bed was fine for a night but not for a longer stay. But the room was clean and nice.
Note the stairs are long and steep and no elevator which could be a problem for some, but it’s a historic building so understandable.
Breakfast was delicious.
I’m a light sleeper and the place is old so you can hear the kitchen staff early in the morning. Also it would be nice if there was space to put your things on in the bathroom.
The room clear and provide kichen equipment
I absolutely loved this beautiful historical property! I loved how the owners host events in their coffee shop downstairs as well for the guests everyday, that adds such a nice touch! We didn’t get to stay for brunch but their menu looked absolutely delicious! I had the chance to talk to the owners and they’re such kind and warm people!
Very well done remodel of an older hotel. Beautiful garden out back. Kitchen could be used to cook, though we didn't.
Stairs up are a lot. I had trouble carrying my bags up.
Fabulous dog friendly hotel
One day they didn’t clean the room we didn’t realise had to ask
My wife and I booked a 2 night stay at the Bishop Hotel for a Spring Break getaway. The room was fine. it's a hike up the stairs to the 3rd floor, but the room was well appointed with a fridge, dishes, etc. for a comfy stay. the bed sure seemed to be smaller than a queen, but it worked ok for us. the disappointing part is that we had to cut our stay short due to an emergency at home. When I checked out at 8:00 am, the desk attendant told me the manager would be in around 9:00 and would call to talk about a possible refund. I didn't expect a refund, as we booked 2 nights and only stayed for one. The bummer is that the manager never even bothered to call. I understand if they couldn't or didn't want to refund the 2nd night, but to promise a call that was never made is unprofessional.
Location was perfect the whole town is walkable.
no tv in the bedroom and no elevator.
Loved how pet friendly the hotel is, and the provision of a little doggy bed, treats and food/water bowls. Coffee was great, check in and check out friendly and fast. Bed was comfortable, and the fireplace was warm and cozy. We will be coming back!
The room was very clean and warm when we arrived
The steps. Need a better way for those with health issues or seniors to climb the upper floors. Its great that the staff are very willing to assist with bags, but they should not need to do that.
Like location, room was very clean and comfortable.
Stairs were long and steep. Hard for my old legs but manageable, Cost was a little steep,
Their beds were very comfortable! The mattress, the pillows and quilt were cozy and we slept well. We also liked the antique furniture and the rooms were spacious. We enjoyed the little coffee and wine shop as part of the hotel. We sat a few hours and enjoyed a latte and the best pistachio shortbread cookies ever!
There were no pictures on the walls, it needed decorating. Also it’s an old building, the air quality needed to improve with maybe air filters.
Great location and reception staff were excellent
It’s old and funky
