La habitación estaba muy limpia y era muy cómoda. Hacia bastante frío y al llegar era muy reconfortante porque estaba calentita todo el dia

Cons:

La primera noche, de madrugada, se escucharon muchos gritos de un tipo bastante violento que estaba o en el mismo hostal (pero no eran los de la habitación de al lado y no había nadie más hospedado) o en el bar. Nos despertó con los gritos y amenazas que lanzaba a alguien. Fue bastante violento y eso nos hizo estar incómodas en el hostal

A great little room just off the Camino
Pros:

Very helpful owners who realised we had walked away from the Camino to stay with them and arranged a taxi to take us back to the Camino the following day. Rooms were very good and included a mini fridge and kettle.

Cons:

The food for 3 of us was fairly basic and I thought re heated . The other person in our group said however that his fish was excellent.

Hotel Rural Quintanapalla is very good value for money
Pros:

I stayed at Hotel Rural Quintanapalla while walking the Camino Francés in March 2026. When I arrived in San Juan de Ortega, one of the proprietors kindly offered to collect me for €20 (one way), which was very helpful after a long day’s walking. This is an additional service the proprietor offers. The same arrangement was available for the return journey the following morning. The proprietor also runs the restaurant in the same building, and the meal was excellent. Overall, I would recommend this property, especially for Camino pilgrims, as accommodation in San Juan de Ortega can be quite limited.

Cons:

Very good value for money and met my expectations.
