Wonderful staff, just two rooms at present, pretty garden with kingfishers and other lovely birds.
Stylish decor (though no wardrobe or drawers). Great bathroom.
Manager arranged a fabulous private safari and packed us breakfast and lunch. Four leopard spottings!
The manager spent three years as a cook at the Sri Lankan embassy in Australia. The dinner he cooked us after our safari was the best we had all holiday. We wished we’d eaten there both nights.

Super nice hosts that did everything for us to have a nice time. The food was amazing - fresh, selfmade and prepared with a lot of love.

The property is a bit secluded so you feel relaxed instantly. The room was very spacious with new/modern furniture and the bathroom was incredible, especially the shower worked really well.

The Safari with Nishshanka is also worth every cent. His experience really showed when looking for leopards. Other cars were going around like crazy, while he just told us: „we‘ll wait here for 10 minutes have your breakfast“. And wouldn‘t you know it, we were the first to spot the cat maybe 50m away while eating… At first we thought it might have been luck, but a very similar situation played out in the afternoon. So we’re pretty confident, he‘s the man to go to Yala with.

It was probably the second best room we have been in Sri Lanka. Room is tidy and clean, hot water available for the shower, wide spaces, nicely decorated. The staff is nice, especially the man who welcomed us at night, he speaks english and has a really welcoming attitude.

Warm welkom, prachtige accommodatie, kleinschalig (2 kamers), zeer ruime en schone kamers. Van alle benodigdheden voorzien (goede bedden, ruime douche met heerlijke waterstraal, tv (indien je hier behoefte aan heb), koelkast, airco.) Complex staat in een prachtige tuin (binnenplaats) die top verzorgd en bijgehouden wordt.

Personeel staat in alles voor je klaar. Ontbijt kan Srilankaans of op verzoek Engels. Er wordt met alles rekening gehouden. Ook kan je aangeven dat je wilt lunchen of dineren en ook dit wordt in de puntjes geregeld door de beheerders. Personeel kan ook taxi (vervoer) of safari voor je regelen.

Locatie, op loop afstand van centrum/winkels. Het meer kan je makkelijk met een tuktuk bereiken (zn 7min)

Fabulous location base for trips out (not just Yala). Big comfy bed, amazing bathroom with hot powerful shower. The most amazing Sri Lankan food freshly prepared, so tasty, and plenty of flavours. Staff can’t do enough for you and are happy to arrange trips out - Gamini was superb tuk tuk driver and guide. A lovely family feel and you will be totally spoilt!

Indigne (falls falsch geschrieben, entschuldige ich mich) und seine Frau machen den Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem. Das Abendessen und Frühstück waren hervorragend- unglaublich, wieviel Mühe er sich gab!!

Die Lage ist zentral (ein paar Gehminuten ins Zentrum), aber sehr ruhig.

The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the very first moment.
Everything was delicious! A special mention goes to the breakfast—the rice pudding with fresh fruit and honey was outstanding.
The accommodation is super modern and was spotlessly clean throughout our stay.
Perfectly located in the center, so everything was within easy reach.

Great hotel with great host and food. We arrived very late yet he waited for us and provided some late night fruits for us to settle in before our early morning safari in a couple hours. The room itself had everything we needed and was very clean and spacious. Water pressure in the shower was excellent. Knowing our safari plans, he prepared sandwiches with some fruits to go for our breakfast as well as plenty of water in a cooler. He also asked us for our lunch preference before leaving and made us a beautiful and delicious homemade Sri Lankan meal as part of his restaurant on the property. Prices were very reasonable. Communication was great before and during our stay. Our host was hospitable, accommodating and went way above and beyond for us for the short time we were there. I'd recommend anyone interested in the safari to work with him and his team. They're kind, professional, and excellent.

Our safari driver was excellent. We were lucky to have been arranged with him via our host at Ariya Tissa. The driver was calm and extremely experienced and knowledgable of the park animals and terrain. At the beginning, we were told of the expectations that there would be low chance of seeing leopards because of our timing (moon phases, month). However, he did outline his plan at the entrance of the park which ran differently than other safaris. Among many safari trucks that morning, we were one of the very few trucks that saw leopards. Luck obviously plays a large part, but we believe our driver best prepared us for the opportunity to spot them. By the time many other trucks came by, it had already left. Highly recommend him.

Beautiful modern, exceptionally clean facilities, welcoming and helpful manager and staff and fantastic food served in a lovely outdoor dining area.

Indica was very nice and extremely helpful. He cooked a great rice porridge for breakfast . The young girl who helped was learning English with us and was delightful too. We went on a safari with Nasinka which was amazing. He drove well and had very good knowledge of the animals and birds , provided a delicious lunch and managed to spot 3 leopards for us

Las instalaciones som modernas y están muy bien cuidadas . Hay mucho silencio y calidad en el entorno .
El host Indika fue espectacular , se encargó de q que estuviéramos a gusto y nos cocinó cada día delicioso.

Our stay at Ariya Tissa was absolutely wonderful. Everything was just great from the first moment.

The host, Indika, is incredibly kind, caring, and welcoming. He really did everything to make our stay perfect and fulfilled every wish with a smile. He also has a very good understanding of Western standards and expectations, which made us feel especially comfortable and relaxed.

The room was very large and extremely clean. The bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was a real highlight. The shower was spacious with great water pressure – perfect after a long safari day.

Even though we were picked up for our safari at 4:30 am, Indika still prepared a take-away breakfast for us, which we truly appreciated. After the safari, we were welcomed with a homemade yogurt with fresh fruits from his own garden, prepared with so much love – a really special touch.

The location is also excellent. It is a perfect starting point for safaris in Yala National Park, as both the main entrance and the Katagamuwa entrance are easily reachable. We visited both on different days, which was very convenient.

We would 100% stay here again and can fully recommend Ariya Tissa to anyone visiting the area. An amazing place with an even more amazing host!
