Nice Hotel, but could do a lot better
Pros:

Had to rely on either the side table lamps or accept the flickering center light, which made the room dark

Cons:

Didn't like the fact that I was allocated a room that was being used by another guest, ie double booked and had to settle for a double room opposed to a twin room which I had originally requested. Had no kettle to make tea in the morning, had a ironing board but no iron, the tap to the hand basin was running all night as it could not be turned off, the shower door was broken, the shower was not that clean, water pressure low and not that hot the.

Greyhound
Pros:

The location .
The restaurant menu was brilliant and good value

Cons:

The room was tired though the bed was very comfortable.
The ensuite was poor, no plug in the sink, the shower had only cold water. The whole room needed to be replaced with a pumped hot water system. Shower fittings were rusty and needed to be replaced

Great location and special bedroom but not exceptional.
Pros:

Room was lovely and bed was really comfortable. Special to stay in a Grade 2 listed property.

Cons:

Water wasn't very hot so didn't get to have the relaxing bath I was looking forward to. Noise from the pub below was off putting & cups weren't changed each day.

Comfortable, cosy and peaceful.
Pros:

The room was lovely beamed with a very large comfortable, the facilities were perfect however there is an annoying green flashing light above the the bed on the ceiling which is very bright distracting for sleeping this could do with repositioning if it is necessary or covering up.... also the bathroom though functional needs upgrading one sink was unusable and the other the taps wouldn't turn off fully also the water could do with being hotter, but it was good value for money and I am happy to recommend the Greyhound and would stop again!!!!

Very disappointed with management attitude.
Pros:

Booked b&b but thier was no breakfast they said they stopped doing breakfast.I had to change my room the tv did not work and the door handle for the bathroom was broken when I told the manager he said it was the weekend and couldn’t do anything about it and said they were fully booked and couldn’t move us to another room I said it was not acceptable then he gave us another room I was not impressed he said complain to booking.com.We spoke to a couple they said that they booked b@b and were told they weren’t doing breakfast anymore.

Friendly but property is tired and they will lose customers if breakfast isn’t provided
Pros:

The staff were very friendly

Cons:

The rooms were very tired and no breakfast, unfortunately last time breakfast was provided and it was excellent quality. For me won’t go back, its not convenient to have to go somewhere else for breakfast

It was very functional. I fail to see how this sort of questionnaire is of any use
Pros:

proximity to our venue for a family get together
I used to live in the area so I knew exactly where it is

Cons:

Very noisy in our room due to "music" from a sound system downstairs in the bar...
...both the nights we stayed

Going downhill which is a shame, losing its appeal / soul
Pros:

Not much to be fair having spent the last 3 years at the same location, same event/time of year

Cons:

Was given a deluxe room because it had a bath, shower was dreadful, staff couldn’t sort a remote out to match the TV, breakfast non existent, no appreciation of the guests needs just a load of waffle to sound correct and excuses. Didn’t spend a penny in the bar that I would have done.
