Java Wood

Viene consegnato un solo asciugamano sporco, lenzuola sporche, piscina mezza vuota e senza un ricircolo d’acqua, lavandino che perdeva, inesistenza di un phon.

The facilities need some serious renovation, specially the pool side of the villas.
The wood is in very bad state and it's easy to get hurt.
The room floor is unstable and the walls very thin, we could hear everything from the neighbor villa.
The staff, although they seemed nice people, were not very attendant.
Wifi was pretty bad, the connection very unstable.

Upon check-in we identified serious issues at Java Wood.

The accommodation was materially below the standard advertised and, in several respects, raised health and safety concerns.

We found:
• Floorboards that creak, lift, and appear unstable, presenting a potential trip or injury risk
• Multiple gaps in the walls
• Dust and dirt beneath the bed
• Rubbish outside the accommodation
• A rotting fence beside the shower area
• An unstable bed
• Dangerous crack by edge of pool
• An exposed electricity meter with its cover removed
• Overall poor cleanliness and maintenance

We were concerned reading some of the reviews in the lead up to arriving, however it is surprising this accommodation maintains its 4 star rating. 3 would be generous given its current condition.

Upon raising the concerns, the staff member didn't seem surprised and told us to contact booking.com. Both parties are yet to respond for over 3 days. In fact Java Wood even sent a check out message showing their complete lack of customer service.

Le travi intorno alla piscina esterna alla camera hanno necessariamente bisogno di essere sistemate in quanto si sollevano al passaggio e quindi pericolose. La pulizia, come l accoglienza, che è evidentemente è affidata a dei ragazzi locali, e non alla proprietà stessa, e’ sicuramente da migliorare. Lo staff dovrebbe infatti essere infatti più presente, attento e sveglio! Per quanto riguarda la posizione si trova in un contesto molto tranquillo e lontano dal caos, ma e’ indispensabile noleggiare una e-bike per girare l’isola e che ci ha procurato direttamente la struttura a buon prezzo.

Llegamos y las zonas comunes había mucha basura.
La habitación que nos dieron estaba descuidada, la piscina tenía un color feo y por dentro la zona del inodoro y por debajo de la cama había mucha mierda que no habían limpiado desde hace tiempo.
Nos fuimos a otro hotel que estaba cerca por qué no queríamos pasar allí ni una noche. De las peores cosas que he visto. No perder el tiempo ni el dinero mirando esto.

Dangereux. Le sol cassé caché sous un tapis, morceaux de carrelages cassés dans la piscine (non mentionné sur les photos) Cache misère. Personnel bruyant la nuit (fête organisée sur la terrasse avec mégots jetés sur toute la terrasse de la réception)

No salía presión de la ducha

The wooden floor area has to change or needs renovation, definitely either the pool. And also, you’ll sleep in a wooden house and you’ll hear any animal’s sound.

Multiple mice in the room from the first night. Mouse poop in drawers and cabinets, strong smell of urine and feces, old and dirty room conditions, broken bed, and dirty bedsheets. It was impossible to sleep because of the noise. Mice also chewed through our luggage and food.

We left after the first night and booked another hotel.

The property promised compensation for unused nights, offered an unfairly low amount, and in the end no refund for the unused nights was received.

Very disappointing experience.

The pool was not clean through out our stay, there was a major infestation of rats in the villa. We had to spend the last night just getting them out of the room.

Everything else, had quite a bad experience to be honest. The aircon didn’t cool the room down during the day, so the staff moved us to another room that had some expander foam to seal the gaps. But this room was very dirty with cockroaches everywhere and the pool was unusable, so dirty with rubbish floating through it. Also when it rained it all just came through the roof. Construction started right next door at 7am and the walls are paper thin. We only stayed 4 out of our 13 nights they refused to refund any of the money we’d paid, not even 2 nights as I tried to be reasonable. Gave us two breakfast vouchers as a sorry. We moved to an amazing place closer to town and sooooo nice and clean for the same price. I’m only writing this review in hopes it saves some others from having as bad a time as we did, trust me it’s not worth it. Gili T in general is amazing though so we didn’t let it ruin our holiday :)

Terrible experience.
The main reason why is chose this hotel was the private pool and the pool was dirty, disgusting, from the first day, and even after two nights it was still exactly the same. They offered a breakfast as a “compensation,” but it didn’t fix anything.
The staff seemed nice, but the hotel’s quality is extremely poor. Weak structure, terrible bathroom, and an overall feeling of neglect.
The water ran out a few times, and the same happened with the electricity. The internet also keeps losing connection.
The ceiling has a few holes, so when was raining, we got water inside the room.
I didn’t have a good time in this hotel, I do not recommend this place.

The pool did not contained chlorine, so I got an infection just from a 7min swim. The house is not finished, yet the wood is already cracked and rotten. Major holes on the walls, gekkos&spiders or anything can come in. The toilet was dirty and it wasn’t placed correctly so it was a swinging experience to use it. Inside and outside of the house there are electric boxes cracked or just not in safe positions. The curtains are old and plastic pieces are falling down from them. Two rattan baskets are supposed to be your garbage can without a lid or plastic bag inside.
