We were able to explore Matjiesfontein,
Pros:

The history of the hotel and the beautiful grounds.

Cons:

The room was outdated and the heating was almost non-existent. They should have had extra blankets in the closet.

Pros:

Everything, the beautiful tidy town with 1 street.
How charming. Such a well kept hotel and town.
It felt like you stepped into the past
The staff were lovely and helpful.
Breakfast was really good with a large variety of food.
The hotel is clean and authentic will definitely return.

Cons:

Nothing and I think this is the first time I have said that.

Wonderful gem in the Klien Karoo
Pros:

Nice location with a large facility. Old style and reflects a long gone era. Rooms are old and well used. Furniture, carpet, mattress could all get replacements in the main building. Great place if you have a pet traveling.

Cons:

A convenience store in one of the many buildings would be super helpful. If they offered petrol even better.

Pros:

What an experience! I felt like a Lady all the way. Rich history, friendly staff, exceptional dinner and breakfast.
The shortest Red Bus tour in the world.... With John as tour guide. YOU have to experience it!

Cons:

What is there not to like?

For history lovers, this is a must!
Pros:

The food was excellent - enormous breakfast, lots of variety, fresh and tasty! The dinner was fantastic too. The staff are incredible.

Cons:

It was a really cold weekend and the only fireplace is in the dining room. If there were others fires lit around the properties, or heaters in the rooms, that would have been great. Electric blankets would also go a long way! And lastly, not enough plug points but being such a historic property this is understandable.

Iconic hotel.
Pros:

The room at the front with balcony is a real vintage throwback to a gentler era. It's a crossover of antique furniture and fittings, and modern high pressure hot water showers and WiFi. The breakfast is exquisite. Dinner is somewhat traditional and limited in choice.

Cons:

The drainage in the bathroom could be improved, and the shower could be cleaner, but I'm nitpicking. The place is over 100 years old.
