Very enjoyable and would be keen to return.
Pros:

Enjoyable dinner & breakfast.
Comfortable, stylish bedroom.

Cons:

Coffee shop was closed on Friday afternoon. Pub was luckily open. Would be amazing to be able to sit in one of the historic lounges with drinks and the fire going.

Very disappointing. Given the wrong room. No hot water. Bathroom was very shabby with mould.
Pros:

Breakfast was good but cold, due to the very cold plates. A big variety to choose from with plenty of coffee on tap.

Cons:

The room we were allocated which was not what we had booked. We had specifically booked in the main hotel with two single beds. We were allocated a room facing the garden instead. We had both recently had spinal surgery, hence the request for single beds and being in the actual hotel was a long bucket list wish.

Will recommend.
Pros:

History, old charm.

Cons:

Was too cold in rooms and restuarant. We missed a cosy space to sit and watch soccer. Need more fireplaces or heaters. Staff were loud in hallway early in the morning, their voices woke us up.

Special and worth while visit with lots of charm. Book the best room available in very old hotel.
Pros:

Quaint and historic hotel with lots of charm. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The main hotel rooms are beautiful and I would recommend booking those for the full experience.

Cons:

We stayed for two nights and unfortunately our rooms geyser was faulty. The hotel is obviously old and has lots of character, but in the middle of winter in the Karoo, it was not ideal! The manager offered us a free night on a return visit, including hot water :)
