Pros:

Seit Jahren kommen wir immer wieder ins Taj Connemara und es ist fast wie nach Hause kommen. Ruby und Monica vom Check in und Shatsi vom Frühstück lesen einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen an. Wir werden sicher wieder kommen.

Colonial Atmosphere in good location
Pros:

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. I liked the old colonial style of the hotel. Staff is helpful. Nice Tamil Nadu speciality restaurant. Location is good if you want to do some shopping at the mall nearby. For us Chennai served as a short stopover.

Cons:

It was not spotlessly clean, as one would expect from a Taj. From the windows at the entrance, to the pool, it was not clean enough. Except for the gym. Also there is a mouldy smell in the corridor where our room was.

A restoring treat for the senses
Pros:

An oasis of calm in a frenetic part of the city. Beautifully fragranced interiors, marble corridors and a serene atmosphere . The beds were supremely comfortable, my room was week designs and spacious and the temperature control avoided arctic air con that you get in some places

Cons:

The food options were a little disappointing, I didn’t feel the Chettinad restaurant food lived up to fine dining label although service was good. The buffet options were ok lots of choice. Deserts and patisserie not great.

Overall it’s a less value for money but breakfast and service of front desk and restaurant is good
Pros:

Property location is convenient for shopping and the breakfast is good and some staffs are very helpful

Cons:

Room and washrooms are not up to standard. Staffs came opening the room doors when we were inside. Excuse was we asked for water but we didn’t and we had enough water. Door bell was not working sometime.

We enjoyed the well-established gardens and pool area. The staff all brilliant.
Pros:

A real sense of history in this place (do the heritage walk of the hotel if you have time). The Raintree restaurant is wonderful.

South Indian food too bland to my liking. No flavor too. It will suit westerners palette.

Cons:

Mosquitoes in the room kept me awake whole night. Noticed not much variety at buffet breakfast table..Staffs too slow at The Verandah.

Client services apart from housekeeping and doormen was below average and memorable for wrong reason
Pros:

The location was central and the room was spacious with good crisp sheets. Housekeeping was very good and attentive and had the best customer service in the hotel. The doorman was very helpful in talking to my Uber drivers and mediating requests to them.

Cons:

The check in was the most poor welcome as the girl was sick and coughing without hygiene awareness and didnt' even say hello back when i initiated the greeting. The check out process was so laboured and even for a simple request the front house lady couldn't understand it and had to do it three times and made me wait for about 15 minutes. the front desk had the worst attitude of any hotel i have stayed at. The wait for a drink at the restaurant was an hour for a very simple order.

The stay would have been pleasant if the hardware of the hotel was better.
Pros:

The staff at the hotel were excellent. Always smiling, polite and very helpful.

Cons:

The hotel is tired and needs a full refurbishment. The first room that was given to me was atrocious. The toilet was actually broken and I had to upgrade myself to a better room. Fortunately, the staff were very helpful and made this shift possible with minimum inconvenience.
