The breakfast was exceptional
Very narrow entry to the shower as the door only when so far back and hit the toilet. Some paint coming off the wall. View of the bins
My stay was very comfortable. It's a good country hotel where the staff are very friendly - it's part of a hotel group but has the feel of a family run establishment; everyone I interacted with was genuinely invested in making everyone's stay the best possible. The food was lovely, and there was a good variety dishes; at breakfast there was no problem varying the menu combinations, which was much appreciated as on my second morning I just wanted some scrambled eggs!
My room and bathroom were spotlessly clean.
While the bed was comfortable enough, I feel the mattress may be nearing the end of its useful life!
Friendly staff and delicious breakfast
Location
My bathroom was across the hall from my room.
Top floor room with views to lindisfarne castle to the front and Abbey to the right side. So quiet and also 4 poster bed.
Nothing as we just love the location and staying one night on our favourite island.only issue first day we had rain so views were a little obscure.
The breakfast was very good and good location.
Unfortunately the evening we stayed a very rude young lady was working in the restaurant serving our food.
Beautiful, huge room, with probably the best ever views from the window. Excellent, friendly, helpful staff.
TV didn't seem to work well, but I couldn't see it properly anyway, being quite a way from the bed and not a large screen. But why look at TV when there's the views out of the windows.
Food wasn't good for our admittedly fussy diets - vegetarians eating low carb to manage illness. The beetroot salad had rock hard sickly sweet bits scattered all over it, that were very difficult to pick out. Breakfast was quite small and the only low carb items on the buffet were apples.
The bathroom could have been a little cleaner.
None of this is important when contrasted with what a comfortable, beautiful, friendly place it is, in the ideal location. I slept very well.
The view was fabulous. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic. They catered well for GF diet.
Some fixures and fittings a little old and worn.
No cups of tea available at breakfast as they ran out!
Location was good, staff at breakfast were friendly. Water was hot, although the shower grouting was black in places.
Staff on checkin and on the bar were unfriendly, shouting, jokingly , to each other and not attending to customers, music in the bar (only sitting area) was loud, staff singing along at times, not musically. Room had paint flaking from the wall so couldnt be seen as value for money. From the outside looks like an elegent place, inside more of a dive.
The hotel was in a great setting, right next to the priory, on the edge of the village with open views to Lindisfarne Castle. ❤️
