Hotel lovely, rooms are not!
Pros:

Perfect location! The breakfast was beautiful. The hotel lobby, bar and the staff were lovely.

Cons:

Our room was dirty and smelly. The carpet was very dirty (do not wear white sock), the curtains look like they've never had a wash since the building was built (dirty and smelly.) The bathroom was very grubby, dirty grout, dirty floor. The bath made gurgling noises and gave off a strong dirty sewage smell. The mattress protector was covered in stains. The skirting boards had a decent build of of dust across them all. The whole room just felt very unkept, and like it had never had a proper clean. I'm assuming the cleaners just go in, put fresh bedding on, fresh towels out and then leave, because everything else was dirty apart from them.

Cons:

Asked on booking 3 month prior to get early entry as we had a birthday meal to get to. Upon arrival told wasnt possible.
Booked the parking and got the email for it but turned out it didnt go through and got charged a £100 fine for parking in their car park.

It’s great! Would stay there again when I visit Newcastle.

Beautiful building but room does need an update

Pros:

The room was very nice and comfortable.
The staff were very good and helpful.

Cons:

The breakfast wasn't as good as I thought it would be. There was plenty of choice but with it being self service it was cold by the time I even got it back to my table.
Not much seating areas in the main entrance, reception area just to sit and relax and watch the world go by.

Pros:

Lovely old building nice and clean close to the station

Cons:

Bed and pillows were hard,i didnt have any photo id to check in with and faced having my room cancelled luckily i was sent a photo of my passport but if that wasnt possible we would have been out of pocket and with no where to stay at last minute

Pros:

Great location and staff extremely helpful 👏.
Good breakfast to start the day. Staff at reception fantastic. Good view from room

Cons:

Room 403 nice room however thought the twin beds 🛌 were to small/narrow. Shower a bit loose and water going over the glass partition.

Checking in staff very polite

Cons:

Night time staff the bar was advertised to close at 11pm so got in to hotel at 1040 pm thinking I would get a nightcap bar already closed and cashed up

Cons:

Problem with the heating on second night.
Spoke to reception who first of all said it comes on at 8pm till 6 am. Waited till after 8 still not on. Mentioned it again and someone on reception said they would put it on when we were out. We returned to a cold room and our swimsuits and a hoodie as that day it had rained all day were still soaking wet. We had to put them in a carrier bag before putting them in our luggage
