Good hotel, has everything you need. 5 stars for Ramon who works behind the bar. Great barkeeper and great fun to talk to, me and my brothers talked with him every night, and he really made the trip worth while. Hope you come visit The Netherlands!
We stayed in this hotel for a week for our skiing holiday and can only agree with the positive reviews we read. Our (corner) room was spacious and newly renovated/decorated, with a comfortable bed and bathroom (floor heating, great shower). The wellness area was the biggest positive surprise: large, clean, quiet. Sauna, steam bath, UV sauna, jacuzzi, and plenty of recliner seats to relax and enjoy. Situated in a quiet part of the small town. Great wifi, and only 40 meter from the ski-bus stop. Parking in front of the hotel. We had half-board and can only say that the meals were excellent, with lots of local dishes (and always a choice of a vegetarian one). Normal prices for wine and beer. The staff were cheerful and very helpful and really made our stay very enjoyable. To sum it up: great value for money!
We stayed at the hotel for less than a week, and we really enjoyed the stay. It would have been perfect except for some minor inconveniences. The owners are very nice, as is all of the staff. Very helpful and friendly.
Let’s start with the room itself. Space was more than adequate having a double bed, and a desk. Quite enough power sockets and a fairly good WiFi signal. Took some time to get used to the matress (very soft) and the pillows are so soft, it was like they weren’t even there. Had to double them up. The bathroom was spacious enough, and almost brand new. The shower water pressure was great, and luckily our bathroom had a window (not all rooms do). Towels were fresh and changed daily. The balcony looked out over the swimming pool, and onto the mountains with a beautiful view. In the summer if you sleep with the windows open, the pool side is noisier in the morning. With the windows closed though, you can hardly hear anything outside.
With climate change coming on, even areas that never needed air conditioning, will start to require it in the future. Our stay would have been much more pleasant with AC in the room. Although, I haven't found a hotel in the area which has it in the rooms, even though most all have AC in their restaurants. If its hot enough to have AC for eating, it should also be for sleeping.
The restaurant was great, the food very high quality and varied throughout the week. Unfortunately, there were very few Sud Tyrolian dishes, mainly only typical Italian fare. But all very good, as well as the presentation of each dish, very well curated. The only low point was the flies. They were everywhere, especially the restaurant (ground floor). I don’t know if it was just a coincidence of our week here, but seeing all of the dairy farms with the cows surrounding the area, I’d think they are a staple of the area. In fact I’m writing this review seated outside the hotel bar, (swatting flies) and today the wind is bringing wafts of cow urine right to up me. But hey, we’re in the countryside, its better than exhuast fumes.
The buffet breakfast spread is typical of the area with cold cuts and cheeses as the protagonists, unfortunately the flies enjoyed them as well as they were all over the food. I don’t understand why only some the cheese was (poorly) protected with a net from the flies, while all the rest of the buffet spread was left unprotected with the flies free to land on whatever was available.
The hotel also has a large wellness center with sauna, steam room, hot tub, massages etc etc. which I didn’t use so cannot comment on the facilities.
We had a great stay at the Martinerhof hotel and a warm family welcome. Food was fresh and tasty in both breakfast and dinner. It was too cold to swim in the outdoor pool even in mid august. Rooms are very simple but cosy.
