We liked the location and peace. (DON’T trust the GPS to lead you through the town. Go around, then you can save yourself stress and scratches on your car)
Our code for the gate did not work and no one picked up the phone. Waited for 30 min until some one opened. There had been a family emergency, which also meant the place was not tidy with old bottles and coffee cups standing around on tables. We did get two good rooms with A/C (thanks Bruno)
The architecture of the vila is beautiful and the garden. The staff was the best thing about this location. They were lovely and helpful, especially with the parking. The pool was clean. The breakfast was good, especially on Sunday because of the event. Someone in the past has put a lot of heart and soul into this place, unfortunately is not the case anymore.
I booked a deluxe double room with spa facilities. We were hosted outside the vila. They had a business event the first night, that was okay. The second night there was a private party with DJ. The music went on until 2 a.m. I would have at least expected to be informed. The vila was only for the event. I had to drive 7 hours the next day. The rooms need a lot of maintenance. I had a snail climbing on my luggage and plenty of insects to take out. The spa was in renovation. Getting out of the parking space was difficult. The young guests from the event parked so I couldn’t exit until they were awake. We waited until they were at the breakfast so I asked the staff to help me with the situation. The guests were angry for being disturbed and after multiple attempts they eventually moved the car so I can get mine out. It was a very uncomfortable situation. This is a location for people who like to show off and have fancy events. I hope the management will choose the right business model in the future. You can’t have private parties and luxury spa hotel in the same time. Sorry, but I can’t say I had good experience.

The communication not the best at all
This villa is beautiful and the rooms are absolutely lovely. Very comfortable beds and surrounded by gorgeous trees so you hear nothing but birdsong when you are on your balcony. Bruno, the owner and Abu could not do more for their guests and were so accommodating and friendly.
The breakfast was ok but not great. One easy fix would be to store the eggs on a warmer or burner of some kind so that they are not cold and perhaps add some bacon or ham. More fresh fruit would be great too and jam options. The shower pressure was very weak so fixing that plumbing issue would also be good.
The Villa is a fascinating example of Liberty style architecture. It has been lovingly restored and has an amazing collection of art. The surrounding park has a very peaceful atmosphere.
My room was very clean and the bed super comfortable.
Bruno the host was very welcoming and helpful. As was Abu the staff member .
I hope to return soon for a longer visit and do some hiking on Monte St Giorgio or maybe even some horse trekking with Bruno.

Very beautiful and well preserved villa that gives you a feeling of being back in time and living like a royal person.
The villa is located on a hill and boasts a fantastic garden with a nice view on the village and mountains.
Kind and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast. Onsite parking.
This place has a soul unlike many other modern hotels and it's definitely worth paying a bit extra and staying here.
We had a horrible experience at Villa Alceo. This was supposed to be first night on our wedding day, so we booked the best room of the property (the one with the tower). The booking was confirmed and we paid in advance for it.
The day of before our stay the property informs us they can no longer provide our room, due to some wind damages they suffered. Having no other accommodation, they offered an alternative room.
On the day of our wedding, we went to check the alternative room beforehand, which was nowhere near what we were expecting, nor what we paid for, but had no alternative. It also became clear that the nice room we booked, and were told was not available, was not damaged, but rather occupied by other guests. At this point there was no management on site and they were not picking up the phone. When we eventually got back the night to stay there, the room was difficult to access (steep path uphill as this was outside of the main Villa) scattered with branches and building materials and no illumination. The room itself was also not in a good state, being dirty and full of flies/bugs. At this point it was midnight and there was no staff there to assist us. In the morning, I complained to the staff, but again, no management and no answers to my phone call.
But here’s the WORST bit: when I finally managed to speak with management (Bruno Golferini) to ask for a refund, I was immediately threatened the police and lawyers were going to be called against me as I stated at the property. This was quite the upsetting and scary experience, which you will find plenty of evidence to support after a quick Google search. Apparently this type of behaviour is standard procedure from Bruno and Villa Alceo. Eventually, Villa Alceo promised to refund half the money I paid, but 45 days later I still have seen no refund and I have little hopes of getting one.

Beautiful location, great service and very accommodating. The villa is charming and very peaceful. We had a wedding to go to and stayed only one night. But we definitely want to go back for a full weekend and explore it's surroundings.
The place is a paradise. If you ever go to Italy, the location is deep into a village. But the place itself is a mansion with real paintings and statues spread everywhere, not to mention the architecture itself. There is basically every single activity: gym, horses, infinity pool, green area, closed area, grand piano, parking, etc.
Maybe the internet could have been faster. In my room, it was not that stable. However, the rest of the stay was nothing but perfect.
Our stay was perfect! Very impressive villa with history, pleasant host and staff, perfect breakfast, very clean rooms.

Villa itself was magnificent and full of interesting history.
Swimming pool was very good.
Parking is a big problem that could easily be sorted out.
It wasn’t great when at times, there was nobody at all there to check in guests.
Beautiful Villa and private gardens up the hill. Still a bit of work to do around the house and garden but the atmosphere is great. Inside it is beautifully decorated, the room are a mix of modern and classic done in a tasteful manner. Very quiet surroundings .

Our host Bruno was very nice. We were offered a glass of wine when we arrived. He gave us a free upgrade to a large suite.

Careful with your car on the way up and down because the path is a bit narrow and or steep at some points.

There was nothing to complain
Wonderful place, wonderful owner and staff… As soon as we stepped in the property, we felt in a very special Villa, the space is impregnated with fine artists paintings, art pieces, the garden is luxuriant, confortable room, every detail is well thought, we got warmly welcomed, our needs were immediatly understandood and filled with kindness and a great professionalism, good quality breakfast, the owner could recommend and book us a very good restaurant at the last late minute. The only problem was that we could only stay one night, we definitly plan on coming back few more days to enjoy the villa, its garden, the staff, the pool and a horse ride in the near nature… A gem !!
It’s a very beautiful house. And the staff is wonderfully nice and helpful.
We got a small hiccup when we arrived. We arrived the place and got a different room which costs less than what we have paid for. But the staff on site couldn’t speak good English so we had to text the manager. Then the manager offered the discount and told us why.
If we had been informed once there is any change made for our booked room that would be better. But overall it has been resolved.
