Boutique hotel with luxury tent experience…
Additional heating could help during cold nights
The one to one interaction & response.
The approach to the property from the road.
Nichts
The place was amazing, boutique and exactly what we were looking for. Different from usual hotel set up. open spaces for kids to play and have fun. They had arranged for bonefire as well. Food was amazing and staff members were very courteous and prompt. Kids absoultely loved the setting. It is 15 mins drive to Ranthambhore NP.
Reaching there from main road is bit challenging for the first time.
Nothing
Place is out difficult to get to, mud roads, many closed gates. The tent wasn't clean, stained sheets, hot water got too hot and then immediately cold. Trains run and honk all night, lound music until 3am (they said it was a wedding nearby) but having to get up at 6am to go on safaris, not ideal. We were told we could have anything on the menu but what i ordered wasn't available and what we ordered next they wanted us to change. Took an hour to be served on a freezing cold "restaurant", where we ate with our winter coats on, with a creepy guy watching us all the time. We didn't feel at ease being two women alone. Place sends bad vibes. We had booked for 3 nights but changed hotel the next morning.
We really enjoyed our stay! Staff was very helpful and friendly, food was great and the tent was very comfortable. They had some local musicians playing in the evening around the campfire, which was such a great vibe.
All was good except the location , quite complicated
Location
Oasis escape away from town. Beautiful spot to rest and recharge during our trip. The staff were exceptional and we cannot speak more highly of them. The restaurant also provided fantastic food (my partner has a nut allergy and that was absolutely no problem).
The team also offered safaris which we booked elsewhere prior to arriving but would do through the hotel in hindsight.
Would highly recommend.
Bathroom was a tired but nothing untoward.
Need 4x4 for road if it has been raining. They are under development still and water really makes a mess of things. I am sure they will be better over time. I’m saying this, the team arranged jeeps to get us too and from our driver pick up point, this was no problem.
I had a wonderful stay at Madho Bagh in the beginning of April. The tents feel very luxurious and the property is a beautiful green oasis, where you can find peace and quiet between tiger safaris in the National Park. I planned my trip to Ranthambore quite last minute, but the owners did a great job securing three canter safaris in the best zones for Tiger spotting (and yes, I was very lucky and saw tigers during two out of three safaris).
The hotel (a tented camp) was excellent.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
The half board package was great value for money and the staff were very flexible regarding our 6am safari starts providing a quick breakfast and then a cooked breakfast on our return.
Delicious dinner and listened to our requests for less hot curries.
Simba the Alsatian dog.
Safaris booked by the owner were excellent.
Staff had very little English so communication sometimes difficult, but they were trying so hard to give outstanding service.
Owner a bit slow to respond to my initial requests to book safaris - I highly recommend making sure you have booked well in advance to avoid the stress of not knowing if you have safaris booked.
The people here are very friendly really loved the vibe
The tent, the staff, the pool, the family run feel.
The food. And dining area.
Madho Bagh is an amazing resort in the outskirts of Sawai Madhopur, close to Zone 1-5 of the Ranthambore National Park. Mr. Akshat and his family have been an amazing host and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The food was amazing as was the experience of staying in a tent. There are a total of 8 tents in total, but this leads to a tailored experience that will meet your needs as you want.
The approach road to the property is a bit problematic, so i would recommend instead of Google maps, connect with the host directly and ask for the best way towards the hotel.
Spacious tents for that on safari feel. Excellent chef that provided delicious food. The owners father was a genial, entertaining host showing true Rajastani hospitality. Attentative staff. The owner was able to organise short notice safaris.
A lack of clarity over meal times and what is included with the plan
Madho Bagh is simply out of this world. Everything about it is superb and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It compares with the top South African games lodges that cost upwards of $1,000 a night. The meals are outstanding and our host Aksha is the kindest, most helpful and amazing person. He got us booked on safaris at the last minute and spent hours doing so. Madho Bagh is example of world class hospitality. The chef prepared such delicious meals, the Laal Maas being our absolute favourite! Would return in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Aksha
Nothing. The only minor issue we had was communication with the staff as their English is limited.
