Old Harbour Hotel

We had been traveling around Tamil Nadu and Kerala for 3 weeks when we came to Cochin. It was late in the day. We were exhausted from a 7 hour car journey. It was raining and hot. From the moment we walked through the door the atmosphere, welcome, support and help was fantastic. We immediately felt at home. With two resident dogs and cats this place felt like home. It was elegant and modest in it's approach to it's hospitality. The garden and pool was beautiful. The architecture was beautiful. The food was wonderful. The room very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The staff were always at hand. Helpful and friendly. I felt it was well priced too.
We had such a lovely time in Cochin. It's a city that is easy to like but the Old Harbour definitely helped.
I highly recommend staying here.

Lovely heritage hotel

Le staff est très gentil, discret et à l’ecoute. La déco très simple et empreinte d’histoire. Les espaces intérieurs et extérieurs sont agréables et apaisants. La circulation dans cette ancienne bâtisse est bien plus agréable que dans des hôtels modernes. La localisation est idéale pour visiter Cochi.

Een prachtig hotel met Nederlandse invloeden, geweldige service en een perfecte startplek om Kerala te ontdekken.

Het Old Harbour Hotel in Kochi is een bijzonder en sfeervol hotel met Nederlandse invloeden, wat niet zo gek is aangezien het vroeger een Nederlands theehandelsgebouw was. Vanaf het eerste contact via Booking voelde het al goed: we werden direct vriendelijk benaderd via chat, kregen een telefoonnummer en zelfs hulp bij het regelen van een taxi.

Bij aankomst waren we echt verrast. Wat een heerlijke plek om binnen te komen. De ambiance is fantastisch en het personeel is ontzettend warm en gastvrij. Zodra we onze kamer binnenkwamen, rook het fris en voelden we ons meteen thuis. De kamer zelf was prachtig en stijlvol ingericht.

De locatie is perfect om je reis door Kerala te beginnen. Je zit midden in de levendigheid, waardoor je meteen de cultuur, de mensen en de drukte kunt ervaren en eraan kunt wennen. In de buurt vind je leuke winkels en goede restaurants. Ook de traditionele Kathakali-dans (al meer dan 400 jaar oud) kun je op verschillende plekken bekijken — wij hebben dit via het hotel geregeld, wat erg fijn was.

Het eten in het hotel wordt duidelijk met liefde bereid. Alles wat we hebben gegeten was gewoon heerlijk.

Wat dit hotel echt bijzonder maakt, is de service. Vanwege de LPG-crisis hebben ze speciaal voor mijn vrouw een apparaat geregeld om toch een Masala Dosa als ontbijt te kunnen maken. Dat zegt eigenlijk alles over hoe goed ze voor hun gasten zorgen.

We hebben hier een geweldige tijd gehad en hadden eigenlijk langer moeten blijven. Gelukkig is dat een mooie reden om nog eens terug te komen.

L ambiance club anglais est très agréable et le personnel est formidable . L’ emplacement est parfait pour visiter fort Kochi .

This is a magnificent property, the staff were knowledgeable and generous and the room was excellent

We had two lovely nights at the Old Harbour Hotel. The room was massive and very comfortable. The highlight has to be the beautiful courtyard where you can have your meals. The location is great - we were able to easily explore Fort Kochi and Jew Town by walking or tuk-tuk. The staff were really great but also a big shout out to the cats and dogs that added so much character and joy to our stay. Oh, and the food is delicious.
