Relaxing hotel with clean onsen bathing facilities. We would stay again.
Pros:

Loved the onsen bathing rooms. Very nice and helpful staff. The room was large and very clean. Yukata were available to wear around the hotel. There is another resort next door which we didn’t go to but had outdoor swimming pools which guests could use.

Cons:

Unfortunately we were not able to eat there because everything contained fish.

Hotel im japanischen Stil mit einem besonderen japanischen Frühstück und Abendessen
Pros:

Das Hotel liegt weit außerhalb der Stadt, ist aber mit dem Bus von Nakatsugawa mehrmals täglich zu erreichen. Mit dem gleichen Bus kann man auch nach Magome fahren. Die zwei beieinanderliegenden Hotels sind optisch nicht wirklich schön. Das Hotel selbst ist aber sehr sauber, die Zimmer im japanischen Stil sind komfortabel und ebenfalls sehr sauber. Die Toilette/ Dusche war zwar etwas beengt, aber hatte alles was wir gebraucht hatten. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel hat einen schönen Onsen, das Partnerhotel hat wohl noch einen größeren öffentlichen Onsen und - im Sommer - ein Freibad mit Rutschen. Unbedingt empfehlenswert ist die Halbpension. Zum einen gibt es im nahen Umfeld keine Restaurants, zum anderen ist das typisch japanische Frühstück und das mehrgängige (12) Abendessen absolut empfehlenswert, für den europäischen Geschmack vielleicht auch gewöhnungsbedürftig. Wir fanden beides sehr gut und wirklich empfehlenswert.

Cons:

Die fixen (unflexiblen) Zeiten für Frühstück und Abendessen, ist aber organisatorisch schwierig anders zu machen. Beim Abendessen ist die Abfolge der Gänge teilweise zu schnell, hier würde ich dann doch ein wenig Flexibilität erwarten, dass der Folgegang erst serviert wird, wenn alle den letzten Gang beendet haben.

Cons:

Property hasn't been maintained to the standard it was built, it is dated and tired looking. Food options are extremely limited. Serving canned fruit rather than fresh fruit at breakfast is unacceptable at this price point.

Great hotel for a stay while walking the Nakasendo trail.
Pros:

The staff was so friendly. The hotel was very clean and our room while small was comfortable. The food was outstanding.

Cons:

Regular pillows would be a nice option but we still had a very comfortable night’s sleep.

Prima verblijf voor 1 nacht als je de Nagasendo trail wil lopen vanaf Magome
Pros:

Vlakbij de Nagasendo trail, je kunt met de bus naar het beginpunt Magome rijden. Ruime fijne Japanse kamer en lekkere onsen.

Cons:

We waren wat verrast dat we in een aparte eetkamer werden gezet om zowel je ontbijt als je diner te gebruiken. Met wel hele service gerichte medewerkers, en geweldig gegeten. Al was het Japanse ontbijt met veel vis een beetje moeilijk voor ons. Verder is het complex een beetje ouderwets, met lange gangen waaraan de kamers liggen. Niet heel charmant.

Wonderful food and large bedrooms.
Pros:

Amazing food for dinner and breakfast. Large beds and rooms. Lovely onsen and there’s also Karaoke rooms to hire.

Cons:

Nothing to hate. This place was an amazing surprise.

Outdated, overpriced hotel
Pros:

Breakfast and dinner is special, fine-dining experience

Cons:

The hotel interior and the room with the furniture and bathroom was very outdated and run-down. Constant noise from the engine room vibrated through the walls, so earplugs were necessary. Onsen was old-fashioned too. The staff did not really speak English, so even simple questions could not be answered. I would not complain if the price would have been the half or third of what we paid for one night.

המלון קצת מיושן והאוכל דורש הסתגלות. אבל סך הכל התמורה למחיר מאוד טובה. הארוחות מאוד מושקעות למרות שהן מאוד יפניות. יש בריכה שפתוחה בסוף שבוע במלון השכן, יש שם גם מגלשה נחמדה - מאוד נחמד עם הילדים. האונסון מאוד מאורגן ומסודר (ציבורי, אין אפשרות להזמין זמן פרטי). סך הכל מאוד נהנינו אבל כמו שכתבתי - החדרים מרגישים קצת מיושנים והאוכל לא מתאים לכולם.
