Happy we chose this quaint lodge, it was just what our little family needed.
Pros:

Mountain access lift is right behind the lodge. There is great storage for your gear. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant on property was great for breakfast and dinner. Very happy we chose this location.

A perfect location for ski! We had a wonderful and comfortable stay with great service!
Pros:

• First impression
Brandon picked us up at Myokokogen Station and took great care of us from the start. This was our first ski trip as a family (mom, dad, and child), and he helped with everything — ski rental, where to find an instructor, and all the basics. We felt impressed right away.

• The accommodation
The place is cozy and simple. No elevator, but it’s only three floors, so it wasn’t a problem at all. The bathrooms are shared but very clean. Everyone keeps things tidy, so it didn’t feel uncomfortable. Guests are quiet and respectful, so we slept very well.

• For skiing
There’s a proper drying room for boards, boots, and wet gear, which is super helpful. The best part is the location — only 1–2 minutes walk to the ski lift. If we got tired, we just walked back to rest, then went out again easily.

• Food
The food here is good, mostly Western style since many guests are Australians. Not very Japanese style, but we still enjoyed it. If you want something different, there’s a really good pizza place within walking distance.

• Area & convenience
Not many Thai guests here yet, which we personally like because it’s peaceful and not crowded. After 8 PM, it’s very quiet. There’s no 7-Eleven nearby, just a small local grocery shop.
If possible, renting a car is a good idea since the ski area closes at 4 PM and you can drive into town for more restaurant options. There is a bus, but we didn’t try it.

• Overall
We really loved staying here. Even as comfort-loving people, we felt totally comfortable. Brandon is super kind and always happy to help with anything.

Cons:

We stayed for 3 nights and our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. We’re not sure if we were supposed to inform the front desk in advance, so this might have been a misunderstanding. There was also quite a bit of dust in the room.

However, we didn’t spend much time in the room since we were mostly out skiing or relaxing downstairs, so it wasn’t a big issue for us.

Cozy & convenient.
Pros:

Red Fox Lodge was perfect for our stay in Myoko. It was right next to the ski lift (practically on it!), it was attached to ‘The Den’ which served breakkie, lunch & dinner which was super convenient & had great food. Staff were lovely & the lodge was super comfortable & well kept.
