We spent four amazing days at Cardamon Hotel Nilaveli and really loved our stay. The hotel is right on the beach, with rooms overlooking the sea and the pool. The hotel has its own pool, sunbeds on the beach and a restaurant where you can order food and drinks and have dinner right by the sea.
Our room was spacious, with a terrace and a sea view. The staff were super friendly and the whole atmosphere was very relaxed.
Nilaveli Beach itself is beautiful, calm and not overcrowded or overdeveloped. The hotels are not big or imposing and fit well into the natural surroundings, with some good restaurants along the beach. In August the water was crystal clear and completely flat. Highly recommended.

In general it is a nice hotel but personally I feel some important details are missing for services that would be essential on a beach hotel.
Breakfast is a-la-carte and does not have such a variety (absence of a real coffee is a big minus in my opinion) so I preferred to have breakfast somewhere else.
Unfortunately the bar at the beach, despite some good juices and an OK pizza, does not serve any cocktails that would be perfect while staying at the beach (you should take note from the bar next door for example).
Cleaning service is not done daily and on demand and needs to be reminded various times before being done.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location right in front of the beach is perfect, and the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere made our stay even more enjoyable. The food at the beach bar was excellent, with delicious dishes and great quality. We would also like to highlight the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, who provided outstanding service throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

L’emplacement est magnifique, la plage est très belle et la vue de la chambre aussi. Le personnel est adorable et aux petits soins :)
Salle de bain très vétuste, la douche ne marchait pas et remontées d’odeurs…
Il faut demander plusieurs fois par jour pour que la chambre soit lavée.

Struttura bellissima, direttamente sul mare. Bellissimo scendere dalla camera e ritrovarsi direttamente sulla spiaggia.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Es liegt direkt an einem wunderschönen Strandabschnitt und die Aussicht von unserem Balkon auf das Meer war traumhaft. Die Zimmer waren schön und das Personal jederzeit sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Auch das dazugehörige Restaurant können wir sehr empfehlen. Es gab frischen Fisch, sehr gute Pizzas und auch die traditionellen sri-lankischen Gerichte haben uns sehr gut geschmeckt.
Besonders aufmerksam fanden wir den Service am Strand. Jeden Morgen wurden die Liegen für uns bereitgestellt und unsere Kinder konnten sich Bodyboards ausleihen, wenn es etwas Wellen hatte.
Für uns war außerdem die Lage direkt neben der Tauchschule Divingguru perfekt, da wir dort tauchen waren und nur wenige Schritte gehen mussten.

Connected to the Nilaveli beach. Lovely for see bathing. Beach restaurant was great. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool too.
Facility does not have a power generator. if there is a power cut in the night, you will sweat in the room. We had that experience for 3 hours in the first night.
Beach restaurant closes by 9:30 PM. That's too early I guess. However when you walk along the beach there are enough restaurants.
Excellent location with beach and pool, easy access to many restaurants on the beach.
We asked numerous times for our room to be cleaned, my wife has ended up sick for a week after leaving the hotel
The property is situated in a great location and offers an amazing restaurant on the beach.
The staff at the reception was not super clear about info like breakfast, room making, and didn’t introduced us the property properly.
Top locatie direct aan het strand en ook nog een groot zwembad. Het hotel en de kamers zijn ruim opgezet met hoge plafonds. De duplex kamers bevinden zich op de bovenste verdieping (met de dakkapel) en hebben 2 airco’s. Op het strand zitten ook wat andere restaurantjes. Je kunt er op het strand eten. Om in het dorp te komen moet je een tuktuk nemen.
Tip: cash afrekenen is voordeliger dan met kaart.
We hadden een keer packed breakfast gevraagd omdat we vroeg de dolfijnen/walvissen tour gingen doen. ‘s Ochtends was er niemand te vinden en lag ons ontbijt niet klaar in het restaurant. Het bleek bij de (slapende) portier te liggen, maar dat was ons niet verteld. Daardoor waren wij te laat bij de tour.
La localisation et le confort des chambres vue mer. Très belle plage, suffisamment de transats et matelas.
La lenteur du service à table. Le fait que les hôteliers parlent très mal anglais : difficile de se faire comprendre.
