Very good
Pros:

2 rooms next to each other. Great facilities. Lovely staff. Organised a massage for us. Good location away from the centre.

Cons:

WiFi didn't work. Added service charge ontop of already taxes etc.

Pros:

Everything was good. The staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms, villa and pool were very clean. The quality and quantity of the breakfasts were good, especially the Sri Lanka breakfast, but it was a bit spicy.

Cons:

The only thing that was not good about the villa was the location of the villa, which was almost inside a village and there were not many facilities inside the village. In my opinion, the hotel was great for staying, but if you are looking for a tourist place, it is better to get a hotel near Mirissa beach.

Superb
Pros:

Villa rental and staff was great! They do as much as possible and was very cute! There were a lot of animals on villa and some plants(I have seen growing pineapple for the first time^^). Host helped us with bike and offer his help in any question.

Cons:

Sometimes light was turned off and internet connection was not stable. But it is problem of Sri Lanka, not villa.

Far from the beach, hair in the food, smell in the bathroom, mosquitoes everywhere.
Pros:

The view from the bedroom was nice and on first look the room seemed clean and well appointed. However the bathroom smelt like a septic tank. When we asked for mosquito repellent the owner told us to keep the curtains shut, and since this was Sri Lanka there was no option but to suffer mosquitoes. Nowhere else in Sri Lanka did we come across such a refusal to do anything about mosquitoes. There were no plug in repellents, and only the coils, which we had to request twice, and then got another lecture about the curtains. So despite the great view we barely saw it.

Cons:

The distance to the beach is much more than stated. And there is no public beach access nearby- you will have to go to a bar or restaurant and use their sea front.

The food was awful. We got hair in the dishes three separate times.

We were asked what we wanted for breakfast by two different people, and the time. In the end the food provided was cold, at the wrong time, a completely different dish, over peppered, and with hair. All the food had far too much pepper. The boiled vegetables were greasy, ergo not boiled.

The owner told us he could organize a massage, but didnt allow us to pay the lady who did it directly. Then made a big show about giving us a discount, but I still have no idea how much went to the person providing the service- if any of the 10,000 rupees we paid went to her.

The owner had to be asked 4 times for water, before he sent over 2 bottles. There was none in the room to start with. And then he said he wouldn't charge us, but made the bill with the water included.

The favourable reviews for this place are completely confusing as we had our worst experiences in a 2 week trip of Sri Lanka. I can confirm that everywhere else has better food, fewer mosquitoes, and a less stinky bathroom. Never again.

We had an amazing stay at Villa Maria. We had just booked for one night, which we changed to two nights as soon as we arrived.
Built to a very high standard with big modern rooms of 5* quality with big terraces.
Great WIFI connection and speeds.

Luxury villa at affordable price
Pros:

Awesome villa with luxury renovation. Very clean and comfortable facilities, breakfasts was awesome. The host (Anura) helped us a lot during our stay.

Cons:

Almost nothing. Not at the first line, but it is not real issue.
