Everything was excellent
An evening meal would have made it perfect.
Location is excellent and all the staff were welcoming and friendly.
The room was very dated and pretty unkempt. In need of a complete renovation. Carpets worn and tatty. Shower needed regrouting
The sink wasn't in the bathroom but in the actual bedroom.

Staff were very friendly and helpful hotel is based in a fantastic location for walking into the town where there were plenty of places to eat.
The daily breakfast was excellent and the hot food was cooked to order, however, you had to pre book a time slot which was a bit inconvenient. We didn't book on the 2nd day but staff were very accommodating in trying to get us seated
The location is ideal for doing Windermere lake.. The
Family room was also spacious and the breakfast was good. Car park space is just outside the chalet and the smell of the pine trees filled the air with the most lovely aroma!

No food available later in the day even though the info.left in the room says there is. Leaflet needs to be updated. Due to this a fridge in the room would be useful.
Staff were lovely , particularly reception lady ,think her name was Melinda who went above and beyond with service, also the staff at breakfast and housekeeping.
The gardens are lovely and breakfast was delicious.
We were in the old building adjacent to hotel .Room 26 ,nice big room with large bay window overlooking garden ,it was a bit tired although was clean .
Worst part was the creeky floorboards above, it did impact a lot especially the last night when the resident above was walking moving and kept us awake .
Great location, with a short walk into Bowness. The room was spacious, and it was nice to have a table and comfy chairs rather than just a bed. The room overlooked a lovely garden. The lounge and breakfast room were very nice and the cooked breakfast was superb. All the staff were very friendly and efficient.

Schimmel op kitranden in de doucheruimte, Tapijt in onze kamer was niet gestofzuigd. Na een paar dagen nog niet. Heb dit zelf moeten vragen. Onder de bedden was het vies en stoffig.
Ontbijt was zeer beperkt.
Geen airco in de kamer.
Oude radiatoren met niet werkende thermostaatknoppen.
I was in room number six, and it was difficult to get hot water from the showerhead, the next day, the front desk staff kindly taught me how to use it.
Lovely big room and bathroom. Very nice breakfast.
Beds very hard, room smelt musty. Offer on website and on breakfast menu for free cake with a drink in the afternoon no longer available.

A DETAILED REVIEW
I will be as detailed as possible of my review of this hotel.
On the first day we were met with a lovely receptionist, Malinda I believe, on Wednesday evening who helped with check in and booking us in for breakfast each day.
We had booked breakfast everyday so I will be leaving reviews of this mostly.
The rooms themselves were standard, we had two adjoining ground floor rooms as we had adults with special needs in our family.
I did have to remove a few spiders and cobwebs and the room needed a thorough vacuum. But all in all average (we paid over £1350 for 3 nights so expecting a vacuuming isn’t far fetched in my opinion).
In terms of room cleaning the first day it was cleaned as we left the ‘please clean the room sign outside’. The second day it was not, when I flagged this with a staff member she said there was a ‘problem with the housekeeping staff’ not sure what this means but she did say none of the rooms were cleaned except for new check ins. This was not true. As I mentioned we had 2 adjourning rooms and the first room WAS cleaned so not true. I was travelling with adults who had special needs, one of whom wears adult diapers so having empty bins was a necessity for hygiene purposes as well as fresh towels for daily washing.
The staff member did bring fresh towels and a black bin to remove the rubbish so that was nice of her but again if the room was cleaned it would not have been necessary.
Now the breakfast, I would say had good options but limited for vegetarians.
Now, I had enquired about halal food prior but was told they had vegetarian which is not a problem at all.
What was a problem was the attitudes and behaviours of some of the staff.
We are a VISIBLY brown family so difficult to assume race was not a factor.
There are few tables so I can see how almost everyone else is treated compared to us.
Day 1- treated fairly okay, given tea and coffee and toast immediately JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Hot food order taken without prompting.
The attitudes and staff, we - A BROWN family treated as second class citizens.
