The host was very kind and chatty. The rooms and beds themselves were clean and spacious.
It kind of felt a bit like camping since we had to go outside to get to the shower, which was very hidden for the ladies. I had to explore the whole ground to find the shower and met a lot of critters and cobwebs trying to find it.
女将さんの人柄が最高でした。
共用でもいいので冷蔵庫が欲しかったです。
The landlady is absolutely amazing! She brought me sweets after I checked in and the next day drove me to the station, gave me a bento and some snacks for the journey. It was so, so appreciated, especially with the heat warnings going on. Well also had a super nice chat despite my broken Japanese as she knows some English. I'd come back to this place just to see her again :) And the rooms are basic but comfortable, clean and with plenty of space. Amazing value for money!
Some people might be bothered by the fact that you need to walk out to the shower and sinks. But nothing I didn't like personally.
She is a very kind and lovely woman.
The owner is an absolute GEM! We were doing the Shikoku Henro and she really went above and beyond with hospitality. Driving us to the train station & making us lunches. You can tell she truly loves to have visitors stay here. One of the best hosts we’ve had on the journey.
In the winter, you should be aware the shower requires walking outside which could be uncomfortable.
The kindest hostess of all the kind people on my Shikoku pilgrimage.
The Staff was helpful and kindness.
The food was delicious.
Nothing.
The lady running the place is an absolute star - she gave me a lift to the base of Mount Ishizuchi so I didn't have to catch the unreliable bus, then that evening she cooked me a delicious okonomiyaki. The place itself is amazingly cheap given what you get - I paid barely more than I normally do for a hostel bed and ended up with a triple room to myself.
The shower set-up is fine, albeit pretty basic.
Very affordable. The host is very nice and helpful. She made laundry for me and prepared snacks.
The place is a bit run down. Shower and washbasin are outside. It's not particularly close to the Henro trail.
Good for solo bicycle tripper,
Great value for money and the staff is really kind. The lady doesn't speak English but can use Google Translate. I speak a little Japanese and she was happy to chat with me. The building and rooms are a little old but the rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, which is nice if you want to have a good night sleep after a long days of walking the Shikoku pilgrimage. I ordered the Japanese breakfast, which was huge and freshly cooked every morning.
The shower (in a side building, shared with other guests) is tiny and there's only 1 (but I never had to wait although I went during Golden Week).
If you're on the Shikoku 88 pilgrim route this a great place to pass through. Clean, comfortable, the basics covered. I ordered the breakfast and recieved a vegetarian feast and great conversation with a warm friendly host.
The host is very friendly
The place is a bit run down, the bathroom and showers are outside and there are only 2 showers for all the rooms. It is cheap if you travel alone but not worth the money for a family.
Super friendly owner who gave us breakfast and snacks every day and brought us to the train station with a goodbye gift. She really went above and beyond.
The apartment itself was okay for people who don't need luxury.
