The staff were excellent, and we were glad there was a hotel chef who prepared great food on request. They made us feel comfortable and cared for, and assisted us throughout our stay.

Cons:

Access to the hotel was a bit challenging, as the road was muddy and hazardous, with some exposed telephone and electric wires.

From the beginning, the cleanliness of the room was poor. During our stay, we noticed cockroaches and cobwebs in the room, and the bathroom/toilet was particularly unhygienic and not properly maintained. This was extremely disappointing and unacceptable, especially considering the price paid.

Additionally, during the middle of the night, continuous frog noises caused significant disturbance and made it difficult for us to rest. After complaining to the staff, we were asked to change to another room. During this interaction, it became apparent that the staff was already aware of this noise issue. This raised a serious concern as to why we were initially allocated a room with a known disturbance.

Overall, the stay was very poor and did not provide value for the money spent. Due to the cleanliness issues, lack of comfort, and inconvenience faced, we are extremely dissatisfied with the experience.

Pros:

I was the only customer those 2 nights. The staff were well meaning and a good Sri Lankan breakfast both mornings. The view across the fields was great.
However the room looked tired, no working kettle or amenities. No hot water. Although the Air conn worked mosquito netting is required. Thhe guesthouse lacked the feel of ownership which is important for a small establishment.
A shame as attention to detail could have made it an excellent stay.
