J7 Villaj Resort

One of the poorest accommodation experiences we have had, and not a property I could recommend.
We stayed at J7 Villaj for four nights but ultimately checked out a day early because we found the overall condition of the property unacceptable.
The issues we personally encountered included a badly stained mattress, dirty and unpleasant-smelling toilets, foul-smelling water from the taps, bird droppings across the balcony, and a swimming pool that was dirty and not something we felt comfortable using. There were also chipped and broken tiles around the pool edge.
Breakfast raised further hygiene concerns. We saw flies around the food, milk that appeared curdled, and butter that looked as though it had melted and been re-chilled.
Most concerning of all was our children's room, where the electrical plug/socket arrangement associated with the shower was situated within the shower area itself. We found this extremely worrying, particularly in accommodation being provided for children.
I am attaching photographs of the conditions we encountered so prospective guests can make their own assessment.
We subsequently raised these issues with the property and requested a refund for the five nights we had stayed. The hotel has refused, saying that we did not formally complain during the stay and that other guests had not raised similar concerns.
In my view, that response does not address the substance of the complaint. Paying guests should not have to tell a hotel that mattresses should be clean, toilets should be properly cleaned, tap water should not smell foul, breakfast food should be hygienically presented, balconies should not be covered in bird droppings, pools should be maintained, and electrical arrangements in shower areas should not give rise to obvious safety concerns.
These are not optional extras or matters of personal taste. They are basic standards that should already be met before accommodation is offered to guests.

Leider war der Pool während unseres Aufenthalts sehr trüb und konnte daher nicht genutzt werden. Zwar wurde versucht, ihn zu reinigen, jedoch schien die Pumpe defekt zu sein, sodass sich die Situation nicht verbessert hat.

Darüber hinaus ist das Hotel baulich mittlerweile etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Besonders im Außenbereich fehlen teilweise Lampen. Weiters wurde im Bad ein unangenehmer Geruch wahrgenommen.

Insgesamt hätten wir uns angesichts des Preises einen besseren Zustand und eine entsprechend höhere Qualität erwartet.

The room wasn’t cleaned in 7days even when asked ,we had to ask every day for clean towels and tea bags and was taking rubbish to reception our self’s so our room want full of water bottles my wife even took the bin down when needed emptying
Two sun beds at the pool for the whole hotel and was covered in bird mess wasn’t even cleaned when asked
Pool is unusable dirty full of debris and unclear water
All walk ways around hotel covered in bird mess was cleaned once in the week we was there and to say cleaned I use the term half hearted
Cigarette butts all just left by pool the whole time we was there
Breakfast is poor if you don’t eat fish curry for breakfast you get a small omelette
10% service charge on drinks even tho you get them yourself at reciption and ask them to put them on your room so not quite sure what the charge was for
Had to ask for toilet roll when needed that goes back to the rooms not being kept
The electrics for the shower are in the shower which I’m not sure is safe We showed at the hotel where we paid to use the pool (can’t say where because the guys there probably wernt ment to let us use the pool lol)
The one time my wife washed her hair with the hand held shower it flooded the bathroom taking ages to drain . We are well travelled around Asia and except things are different here but this hotel was just dirty full stop and I don’t want people to be disappointed like we was

there was not hot water in the shower. the first morning breakfast was supposed to start at 7.30am but at 7.30 nothing was actually ready and we had to wait until 7.45 to have it ready, and we needed to leave at 8.00 to go diving. the pool was really dirty. the rooms were not cleaned at all and there were a lot of animals in the room, such as gekos and even a frog.
I think it would be okay if we paid 10€ each to stay there, but for what you pay it’s really not worth it. go somewhere else.

La stanza non è pulitissima, una volta entrati ci siamo fatti cambiare subito le lenzuola per macchie marroni e gialle sospette, anche il lenzuolo di ricambio era sporco, al terzo tentativo siamo andati bene.
Fuori dalla camera avevamo una bella popolazione di formiche rosse, dentro la camera, nel bagno, abbiamo prima avuto le formiche e successivamente una ranocchia che usciva da dietro al gabinetto.
Ci può anche stare essendo in mezzo alla natura, però le notti non sono state troppo tranquille.
La piscina è sporca, la colazione è limitata ma fattibile.
Ultima pecca, in tre giorni non ha mai funzionato il POS e siamo stati costretti a pagare tutto in contanti.
