What really stood out was the excellent customer service—the staff was attentive and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for great hospitality and excellent Sri Lankan food.

Exceptional
Pros:

Great location in the middle of a really timy village, completely surrounded by nature. The nicest host family, who made everything to make our stay comfortable. We had wonderful dinner and breakfast. Really calm and beautiful place. Beautiful clean room with hot water. We really recommend renting a bike and biking to the Ritigala mountain.

Exceptional
Pros:

Food was good and we requested an early breakfast which was arranged on time. Room was nicely arranged. This is very close to Ritigala archaeological site. Service was excellent. Managed by a family and they make sure to help and support in anyway possible.

Cons:

There were some mosquitos, it was manageable.

It's a nice place to see a lot of things, but also relax :)
Pros:

Kumara and his wife took really good care of us. Their place really is hidden in a lovely garden, with a nice pattio and hammocks under palm trees.

The most special thing about this place is the food: it is organic and local (from the garden or the neighbours). Everyday you can try something else. The hosts offer cooking classes in a traditional mud hut.

Additionaly Kumara showed us a lot of places: Rigitale Mountain, Sigiriya, Dambulla, but also some batik, jewelry and spice shops.

A great base for relaxing and variety of sightseeing. Delicious organic food. Kind, attentive owners
Pros:

The owner very kindly made time to take me to the Ridigala Forest Monastery, and this was a highlight of my visit to Sri Lanka. The ruins of a sophisticated Buddhist monastery, set in virgin forest, are fascinating, and the environment so tranquil and beautiful. The "Hideaway" is indeed just that, set some 800m off the main road on a quiet lane, and offers comfortable accommodation and delicious, homecooked food made with organic ingredients sourced locally (in some cases direct from the garden). A very relaxing, "home from home" environment.

Cons:

I only wish I had been able to stay longer, to climb Mt Ridigala (a challenging 9 hours expedition, but no doubt well worth it) and to partake in a cookery class. Next time!
