Die Unterkunft befindet sich mitten im Jungel in einem kleinen Dorf. Die Landschaft und die Lage der Unterkunft ist traumhaft schön. So nette und gastfreundliche Gastgeber trifft man nicht immer, aber hier hat man es hier richtig gefühlt dass man willkommen ist. Es sind die besten und die höfflichsten Gastgeber die wir auf unserer Reise durch Sri Lanka getroffen haben. Die Bungalows sind mit Blick auf Reisfelder und Jungel ausgerichtet, einfach wie in einem schönen Bilderbuch. Die Zimmer sind modern, mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht und wlbesonders hervorzuheben ist die Sauberkeit und Ordnung. Die Gastgeberin Umesha hat immer traditionelles Essen zubereitet und es war einfach nur köstlich. Ihr Ehemann Saman führt unterschiedliche Touren durch wie Jungle Wanderung und viele andere. Total spannend und abenteuerlich. Alles in Allem war es für uns der beste Aufenthalt in Sri Lanka.

Alles, es hat wirklich alles gestimmt und wir haben uns wie zuhause gefühlt, können es nicht erwarten wiederzukommen!! Auch die Tour durch den Regenwald hätte nicht besser sein können! Es gibt nichts was wir verbessern wollen würden!

A rainforest experience paradise. Extraordinary friendly, flexible and committed hosts. We booked all tours through them. Rooms and dinner table with a spectacular view. Great SriLankan food with local spices.

We stayed in the cottage and we really enjoyed it. Everything was very clean and the hosts were very welcoming. We went into the forest with Saman and his brother who are wonderful guides. We loved every moment spent here and the 2 days will remain our favorite memory from our stay in Sri Lanka.

This was truly the best accommodation and overall stay we had during our three weeks in Sri Lanka. We absolutely loved the setting — fantastic little cottages overlooking rice fields and right at the edge of the rainforest. Sitting on the balcony was magical, with the calls of peacocks, the sounds of kingfishers, and even monkeys appearing at the forest edge. The accommodation itself was beautiful, cozy, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax and fully enjoy the surroundings.

The breakfasts and dinners were absolutely amazing, some of the best food we had on the trip. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, and Saman, who is a rainforest guide, took us on unforgettable walks where we saw plenty of wildlife. The Sinharaja Forest Reserve itself was a fantastic surprise — we changed our travel plans due to the floods, and it turned out to be a truly unique and unforgettable place. Thanks to this stay and kind hosts, our experience felt very special and authentic, something we will remember for a long time.

I stayed for three nights and it wasn't nearly long enough. I went on a rainforest tour and a guided birding walk both with Saman. I highly recommend you do the same. He's incredibly knowledgeable - He even nursed an injured bird back to health (It had flown into a window and was stunned). there are also so many beautiful paths you can take to explore on your own, and after a full day of exploring you'll come back to a warm greeting, some great food and a very comfortable room. This is where I close my eyes and imagine that I am when I'm having a bad day. :)

The view, location, fodod, stuff was more than perfect . We went for a tour with Saman to the rainforest, and it was memorable.

Wir haben 2 Nächte hier verbracht und wurden herzlichst von der Familie versorgt und verwöhnt. Saman und seine Frau sind einfach unglaublich liebenswerte Menschen. Während Umesha uns zu jeder Mahlzeit die leckersten Menüs zauberte, hat Saman uns mit seiner ganzen Leidenschaft den Sinharaja Regenwald näher gebracht. Wir haben unglaublich viele Tiere gesehen, auch solche, die man selten zu Gesicht bekommt. Dazu gehört neben Saman’s Können aber auch ein bisschen Glück. Wir haben auch an einem Wasserfall gebadet und einfach eine wunderschöne Zeit hier gehabt. Saman liebt diesen Wald, das spürt man einfach, und man merkt auch, dass ihm insbesondere der Erhalt dieses UNESCO Weltkulturerbes für nachkommende Generationen wichtig ist.
Unser Zimmer war neu und sehr sauber. Die Aussicht ist von jedem Zimmer einfach atemberaubend schön. Der Abschied fiel uns wirklich schwer und wir hoffen, irgendwann wieder einmal zurückkommen zu können.
Wir wünschen Saman und seiner Familie weiterhin viele nette Gäste, die die Natur ebenfalls zu schätzen wissen.

Tutto, la posizione è ottima per un tour nella foresta con Saman , il marito che gestisce assieme alla moglie la struttura, che è una guida autorizzata. Ottima pulizia e colazione. Inoltre Saman è sua moglie sono veramente un plus per la loro cordialità. Consigliatissimo

Dit was zonder twijfel ons beste verblijf tijdens onze reis door Sri Lanka! Fijne, schone kamer met prachtig uitzicht. De eigenaren zijn ontzettend aardig, toegankelijk en geïnteresseerd. We voelden ons hier erg welkom. Het eten was geweldig. De host was ook onze gids in Sinharaja Rainforest. De jungle tour was erg goed georganiseerd. Saman nam alle tijd en wees ons op allerlei soorten, die andere gidsen zullen overslaan. Zijn enthousiasme werkt erg aanstekelijk. Zelfs s’avonds wees hij ons op allerlei soorten die rondom het verblijf voorkomen. We kunnen Rainforest Nest aan iedereen aanraden. Het was een onvergetelijke ervaring.

Absolutely everything ❤️ Sinharaja rainforest is a magical place to visit. Our host's Saman and Umesha were ever smiling 😃 and welcomed us with so much ❤️ and generosity into their beautiful bungalow. Staying here was the highlight of the trip for the 4 of us. It felt like we had a taste of the REAL SRI LANKA, a night and day spent with the most amazing family is something we will take home as a memory to treasure. Saman is a fantastic guide. He is so passionate about his job, his love for the forest creatures and flora is amazing. He was able to show us so much. We spent over 4 hrs on our walk with the most patient man who helped us capture the most amazing photos on our trek. We saw species that are endemic to Sinharaja forest. It was very special. Umesha is also the best cook. We had delicious meals prepared with so much love. Saman provided us with leech socks and salted our shoes on the outside for extra protection. Then when we returned our shoes were washed for us. Exceptional service 👏 Please if you are reading this, do yourself a favour and go. You won't be disappointed. We're sorry we didn't have more time to stay longer. It was so peaceful and grounding to be still with nature. This family is the best 👌
