Unforgettable experience
Pros:

I started learning wing foil, and I was lucky with both the wind and my instructor, Dani, who was very patient and calm. The overall experience has been amazing — one of the best moments of my trip to Sri Lanka! The wooden bungalow was beautiful, and it’s about a 10-minute walk to the lagoon. The atmosphere is really nice, with kitesurfers and wingfoilers from all over the world. The food is delicious, prepared by Charlie, and Paco’s cocktails at the bar are great too. I also enjoyed the morning yoga class with views over the lagoon... all in all, a unique experience in a stunning setting. Thank you, Margarita, for this wonderful discovery

Very nice place, but some important details could be upgraded.
Pros:

The accommodation site, our chalet.
Everything is really cosy and under de tree canopy.

Cons:

The additional bed in our 4 person chalet were both just simple foam.
So absolutely not comfortable.
The bicycle rental (3€/day) is way overrated. Our chains fell of twice within the first 10m ride and nothing can be changed, gears, saddle height.

Perfect place to learn wingfoil
Pros:

I started learning wingfoil with Dani and the experience has been amazing. The wooden bungalow was beautiful, and the atmosphere is really nice, sharing good times with people from all over the world. The food is delicious, prepared by Charlie, and Paco’s cocktails at the bar are great too. Morning yoga lessons are also great... all in all, a unique experience in a stunning setting. 🥰 Thank you, Margarita, for this wonderful discovery.

Einer der schönsten Aufenthalte überhaupt.

Ich habe 2 Wochen im Margarita Village verbracht und keine Nacht war eine zu viel!
Von Nisala wurde ich sehr herzlich in Empfang genommen, was sich bis zu meiner Abreise durchgezogen hat. Mehrmals wurde ich von ihm gefragt, ob ich etwas brauche und ob alles passt und bei Fragen konnte ich jederzeit auf ihn zugehen. Ich habe mich als allein reisende Frau immer sehr wohl gefühlt und die Unterkunft ist wunderschön in die Natur eingebettet.

Die halboffenen Bungalows sind einfach eingerichtet und erlauben durch ihre Bauweise natürlich keine Klimaanlage im Zimmer. Der vorhandene Ventilator ist jedoch mehr als ausreichend, sodass in der Nacht nicht auf guten Schlaf verzichtet werden muss. Das Moskitonetz hat seinen Job ebenfalls hervorragend gemeistert, vor allem dann, wenn es (wie empfohlen) unter die Matratze gesteckt wird. Ja, ein paar Insekten und Geckos verirren sich im Zimmer und das Bad befindet sich wie in der Beschreibung unter freiem Himmel, es ist aber trotzdem alles sehr sauber und im Bungalow werden Räucherstäbchen und Spiralen gegen Mücken zur Verfügung gestellt.
Es war eine wundervolle Erfahrung so lange im Village zu sein und ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch.

Ein grosses Dankeschön an Ruben, mit dem ich vor Anreise in Kontakt stand und an Nisala, der während meines Aufenthaltes vor Ort und immer sehr hilfsbereit war.

Am liebsten wäre ich noch länger geblieben...

Not happy
Pros:

Las fotos son bastante antiguas y en mi opinión no reflejan el estado actual. Cosas que me gustaría haber conocido antes de reservar (90e noche en waterfront!)


- No hay aire acondicionado 

- No hay agua caliente y el baño es "al aire libre" digamos

- Hay 1 toalla de colores por persona

- No hay sábanas más que una bajera cortita

- No hay ventanas, hace mucho calor y hay mucha mosca 


No es un sitio que recomendaría a nadie, quizás algún viajero que quiere ahorrar al máximo pillando la compartida y que le coman las moscas...


Cuanto al restaurante, además tiene precios europeos:

- hamburguesa de cenar 10€

- cerveza 3€

- mini snack de patatas fritas en bolsa 1.5€


Sí que hay que reconocer que los dueños son gente correcta, amable y onesta.

Cons:

No se puede levantar el kite desde el hotel, hay que ir en barco en frente. Hay poco espacio y desventa. Además la laguna y donde está situado en general es un culo de saco donde el viento rachea mucho y navegar es muy incómodo

Superb
Pros:

The location was really nice and relaxing, small and cozy. The owners and staff were incredible nice and helpful and food was delicious. I stayed there for 2 weeks and it felt like home. Was hard to leave. Kite spot and instructures I can recommend as well, best place to learn kiting and spending some time in a great community.

Cons:

The way to kite center got a bit long after a while, so renting a scooter is definitely helpful, or you stay in the margarita lagoon or at center if you want to avoid walking every day for 15 minutes to go kiting.

Amazing kite school with a great kitesurfing athmosfere
Pros:

I really enjoyed my stay. The wooden bungalows are very rustic and cozy, with open roofing and an outdoor shower. The garden is well-maintained too. The school has a WhatsApp group where they share information about lesson planning, wind conditions, and activities, which I found really well-organized. Dinners are served with all the guests at the kite center, which was just 5 minutes away by bike. Safran was my instructor. He is very experienced and teaches in a great way—always calm, helpful, and full of good advice. I made great progress thanks to him. I felt like in a kitesurf community . Thanks a lot to Safran and all the Margarita staff!

Beautiful and calm place with a great outdoor shower
Pros:

Nisala is an amazing manager. He took very good care of us and he made our stay very unique. The bungalows are beautiful and well maintained. They keep the place very clean. We will miss this place and if we go back we will stay here again. Thanks again Nisala, Ruben, for our enjoyable stay.

The village is in very local place with lots of nature around. Then you cycle to centre where more people are staying so it’s big kitesurfing community with lots of instructors
