Very nice place in nature and friendly employees
I think they could do more with the land to make it more appealing and use it to its full capacity.
Rien
Lovely serene location. Food was very good! Especially the hoppers we had for breakfast. Room was very spacious. Staff were friendly.
A lot of ants in the room which our children were nervous of. No option of bottled water.
The staff was very friendly and cooperative, and tried their best to help with whatever we needed. Food is reasonable and tasty. The place is quiet and good for relaxation. Also, the option to check out at 1 pm was a good idea.
"Improving the neatness and attractiveness of the garden will enhance the overall value of the property.". Also, the WIFI connection did not have data.

My stay at Kalundewa (4 nights Jan 2025) is already unforgettable. The main words that come to mind are: peaceful, considerate, human, caring. Kasun, the host is deeply caring and together with his family creates beautiful Sri Lankan dishes, helps with anything, and beyond this, is a very special person who cares for the environment deeply. I enjoyed my stay so much because the property (farm next to forest) has so much to offer, with various nature to explore and animals co-living. It is a really special, soothing, only nature sounds experience. Perfect to just be reading and enjoying nature. Also, I traveled by myself and felt comfortable the entire time.
The room I stayed in is a separate house than the family house, a bit like a special cabin/ bungalow. It has everything you need, very good lighting and it is possible to watch the forest and some of its inhabitants from the room (big windows to the forest), the balcony or anywhere in the property.
There are no shops in the immediate street corner or so, but the property has everything you need and otherwise Kasun would always help to bring you to a place e.g. to withdraw cash or buy some food. He is also very knowledgeable about different activities in the area, such as nature, archeological sites, temples or local markets, which was my interest.
All photos are taken in the property, and in reality it’s even nicer:) I would give a lot to go back! I recommend staying at least 4 nights.
Unrelated to the property: check, the area is seasonally very humid, this is something to bear in mind.
Very well kept property in a unique location. They made an extra effort to make our stay one of the best we've experienced !
The accommodation lodges were very attractive from the outside and very comfortable on the inside, Everything was set within large grounds with monkeys in the surrounding trees. There is a large mango orchard at the back to stroll through. The home cooked food was very tasty and varied and more than enough for our party of 5. We were kindly given a ride in a bullock cart (the bullock lives on site).
Breakfast and hospitality was lovely
Nothing
Excellent service from manager Kasun and staff.
Well-prepared meals and comfortable facilities
Just that we had to call the manager a few times to remove one or two tiny frogs from the bathroom
Calm and beautiful place. Village is comfortable and convenient spot.
Helpful and winsome personal.
The best thing was the staff and location. Calm and with the nature
Cleanliness could be improved
We had a great stay at Eco Village Kalundewa. It is located on a farm, which we liked a lot. The appartment itself was super pretty, clean and there were mosquito nets. The host served delicious breakfast, it was outstanding.
Super nice and thoughtful host.
The toilet paper was moldy and the drain in the bathroom was not working properly.
Best hospitality,Food & lovely Service
We had two nights there. The place is very nice with monkey and other animals around. The food (breakfast and dinner) was simply amazing. We had them in a very nice environment and the food was very tasty and in enormous quantities.
EVERYTHING - This is not just a stay, it's an experience never to be forgotten.
Embarking on the Eco Village journey felt like entering a tranquil time capsule. Rocky Mountain views painted a picturesque backdrop as we traversed fields on the road to nostalgia. Mr. Kasun, the maestro of operations, warmly greeted us during check-in, creating a symphony of hospitality that lingered throughout our stay. The top-floor wood cabin surprised us with its elegant decor, and my wife and Mr. Kasun had conspired to orchestrate a delightful birthday cake.
As we roamed the property, we discovered a magical world filled with unexpected mango offerings and nostalgic swings and hammocks. The day was punctuated by the melody of freshly brewed milk tea, leading us to an eagerly awaited Bullock Cart ride down memory lanes. The evening sky painted itself in hues of enchantment as we indulged in a dinner masterpiece of Sri Lankan delights, served in a traditional setting.
As the moon cast its cozy spell, we surrendered to the embrace of plush beds and a gentle night breeze, foreshadowing the enchanting overture of morning tea awaiting us. In the garden, a breakfast symphony unfolded, starring a tantalizing ensemble of traditional rice and curry—a culinary masterpiece that gracefully ushered in the perfect dawn.
Exploring the city and reluctantly packing our bags, bidding goodbyes became a bittersweet melody. In conclusion, the Eco Village is a portal to serenity and tradition, offering a calm haven with a touch of magic. I wholeheartedly recommend this enchanting abode to anyone seeking a timeless tale of relaxation.
Kudos to Mr. Kasun & the team! I'm already anticipating the next chapter in this unforgettable journey.
Nothing at all - Keep up the good work!
No words can describe the experience you get for the little amount you pay!
The rooms are extremely clean, a true hidden gem where you wake up to the sound of the lush greenery. You get to see some monkeys passing by.
Kasun and the staff are absolutely friendly and always provided everything we needed and more. He gave us advice on where to visit and what to do according to the best time of the day. He prepared a private candle lit bbq dinner for my husband and I, with a bonfire.
He showed us around all the amazing fruit trees they had (which they also served freshly for breakfast). They prepared tea in a coconut cup!
Everything is priced reasonably and the value for money is WAY beyond expectations!
Nothing really
