Cons:

Las habitaciones estaban llenas de humedad, paredes sucias, las llaves de agua y regadera llenas de sarro, el lavamanos desprendía un olor a drenaje, la gasa llena de sarro, las colchas olían a humedad, telarañas en el baño y no servía el agua caliente, además que salía muy poca agua de la regadera

Pros:

Las habitaciones son lo que expresan, cómodas y amplias además incluyen una tarja, frigobar y un horno lo que hace más fácil muchas cosas y hasta llevar alimentos o bebidas.

It was a quick stay but we enjoyed our visit
Pros:

The bed was nice and big. There was a kitchen space we could use. It was about 10-15 minute walk from lots of restaurants.

Great location, nice rooms, convenient location.
Pros:

Great staff, very helpful. Laundry service on site. Decent sized rooms. Location was within walking distance of the main areas. Use of kitchen also available which was a nice bonus.

Cons:

Lots of dogs barking throughout early hours of the night. Nothing Soi Bacalar can do about it, no fault of theirs, but worth noting.

Great location and friendly staff.
Pros:

The location of the property was great about 10 mins walk from the ADO bus station and 10 mins from the lake side too. The staff were all incredibly helpful, we had a shower problem twice in a row and they came to help immediately. The bed was also enormous!

Cons:

Just our shower issue. Both evenings in a row we didn’t have any water in our shower but were given a solution both times so not a major complaint just slightly irritating.

Cheap and cheerful, basic base to explore Bacalar
Pros:

Large firm bed
Very clean "studio" room - with fridge and microwave, sofa bed in the living area
Large communal kitchen, well-stocked including a blender
Walking distance to ADO bus and centre of Bacalar
Great shower
Bicycle hire
Laundry service on site
Drinking water provided, and breakfast cereal
Daily clean available on request
Very easy to come and go
The cleaning/laundry lady is so pleasant and sweet

Cons:

The "welcome" was odd - at 6pm, a guy asleep in the reception on the sofa
Reception needs a makeover!
Young receptionist (the grandson) was very moody and sat on his phone in reception, lay on the sofa. I guess I'm not used to seeing this at a professional place!
My room needs a few lamp, shelving and a wardrobe. It's very very basic (but clean). There was no place to hang my clothes or put my toiletries. The lighting is that hideous classic BRIGHT WHITE.
The hand wash basin water is very poor pressure
The shower head has decayed and needs replacing
Loud humming in my bedroom at night
Breezeblock / concrete construction means you can hear the neighbours peeing, coughing, showering, turning on their TV
My room faced the seat swings. Sometimes late at night guests would congregate there to talk and smoke - and wake me up
Corridor light would be left on so curtains need to be heavier to block it out...or it needs to be switched off
Guests arrive late at night and press the (loud) door bell - when you are asleep! This is so unnecessary.

Nothing bad happened yet the hostel didn't feel secure - reception was always open to all but sometimes unstaffed. All the door keys were on display. I'm sure it's fine but it not like a regular hotel service. I'm sure this is reflected in the cheap-ish price
Playing loud music during the first part of my stay

The surrounding area is very shabby, with dogs wandering and barking. I got used to it but my initial impression was NOT good.
