Breakfast could be improved
The location of the hotel at the heart of Kuldiga is lovely. Hotel itself is nice but poorly maintained.
The hotel suffers from inadequate maintenance and is running down. Non-existing ventilation has caused a mold problem and mold can also be already seen around windows.
Location and great terrace on the back of the hotel
Bedroom on top floor had small windows and no functioning AC , so was bit stuffy in room !
Receptionist told us to use parking place in front of hotel , and said it’s free on Sundays / holidays ( we stayed on Sunday during midsummer holidays ) , but we got parking ticket next morning , and we were told it’s not their parking lot, and they can’t do anything about it! That’s kinda ruined all the beauty of city ( as we asked 3 times if it’s ok to park front of hotel and were told it’s ok ) !!
The location is perfect - right in the heart of Kuldiga, just a few meters from the most popular restaurants and cafeterias, and in front of the famous pedestrian Liepājas Street with multiple artisan shops and cafes.
The staff was super nice, friendly, and forthcoming! All our requests or inquiries met a perfect solution or answer.
We also liked the main dishes that we ordered from the restaurant menu, even when we were far too late for the opening hours, the kitchen staff made the impossible possible, and we enjoyed our late dinner. Special thanks for the white sauce that comes with the potato puree and for the delicious green tea with ginger and citrus fruits!
A parking spot easily accessible from the reception was included in the price.
The breakfast was below our expectations, with limited options available. There was no sausage or any hot meat, and yogurt or cottage cheese were also missing. The absence of a toaster left us with no hot toast option.
Our air conditioner was not functioning, and it was very hot in the room during the night.
