Wonderful, Large, clean, comfortable room with patio. View of landscaping and foliage from the room and patio. Excellent restaurant (not hotel affiliated, but on hotel grounds) It had pretty reasonable prices and good food. We ate most meals there and were pleased. Very peaceful sunset and pool view from the restaurant.
Didn't have correct password for 1+ day so no Internet. Finally resolved. No info in the room about contacting reception by phone. The obvious 0 did nothing. When I got the number from the desk how to call them on the second day, only 1 time was it answered. I was directed to call back the same number in 20 minutes. I made at least 25 calls attempting to see if we could pay to stay a few more hours since there was a 5 hour gap before our timeshare check-in elsewhere. No answers to calls. Zero. I had to walk to the office to request man for baggage help at regular checkout time because no one had answered the phone in 2.5 hours. I consider that kind of problem serious, particularly if emergency. Every room should have that info. We really liked this resort except for the totally inexcusable phone situation and error on Wifi password card. I'm not sure if we will return next year. Too bad.

Los Tules is not the highrise condos you see everywhere else in Puerto Vallarta. It is what I imagine PV was many years ago. The property has beautiful gardens, lots of palm trees, and a lovely beach. While older, it has been updated. We have been coming to Los Tules for almost 20 years. The small restaurant onsite is delicious and reasonably priced with a great view of the ocean. Also there are always chairs at the pool. Something we don't encounter at other resorts in which one has to go out at 6:30 am or earlier to secure a chair!
Oddly they do not have umbrellas at the pools. There are 8 pools. One can, if needed, find shade under the palm trees, however. While not a huge issue, there are so many different units, style-wise and layout, that one is never sure what one is getting when booking.
This resort provided us i look rote t and peace during the violence and car burning period in February this year . We feel very safe inside and the staff were excellent !
The gardens are lovely and the location is serene on the beach. The pools arent too crowded with plenty of space as so many of them. The hotel was also very accommodating of our numerous schedule changes during the unrest in Puerto Vallarta
The accommodations are slightly older if you are stuck on that but the place is lovely and as an old timer said ‘how can you be unhappy at los tules?’
The overall resort was perfect, spacious (not a high rise on a tiny footprint) with 7 pools to choose from. The people we met were long time guests, some over 20 years, and elderly like us. The beach was great notwithstanding the few palapas but "our" pool was just over the beach wall with the amazing sound and fine mist from the waves.
Our unit, # 20 306, was nightmare to access. As late 70s, but consider ourselves still fit and active, we had to climb 14 steps up a very tight spiral staircase, after the 2 floors stairs. Carrying suitcases and groceries was extremely difficult and dangerous. The kitchen area could only accommodate 1 person who had to be slim, as we are, but......
Location is awesome. Best in PV. The grounds are beautiful and it feels private and tranquil inside. There are so many pools and beach access is easy. The place isn't overwhelming like some of the enormous hotels and the restaurant is great.
There is a swamp full of black water next to the hotel. Not their fault I assume, but it needs fixing. A decent size crocodile lives there too.
The rooms are dated. For me and my partner it was ok, but I could see some people being turned off by the style. It was probably perfect in the early 80s so lacked outlets and lighting.

Beautiful grounds and view, low-key, not a high-rise tower, many pools to choose from, friendly people and community, great tennis courts, beach right there, and restaurant.
Unit was dated, some things need repair (screen door kept falling out of the track, we couldn't get the safe to work) and needs upgrades/remodel (bath fixtures/towels/kitchen utensils/closet and drawers)

Very good cleaning service. Filtered / bottled water supplied in the room.
Some of the pool tiles need to be fixed. Sharp edges due to missing / damaged tiles.
Not enough sun loungers on the beach. We only got to enjoy them one day as they were ”reserved” by others.
No dishwasher in unit 15-123.
Everything else was great!
The room for 5 of us was much bigger than expected. The balcony was very large. The kitchen was sparse on items, for example just 5 plates, 5 cups, 5 of everything. No big bowls for salad. Fans in every room, barely needed the AC. Lots of pools. My kids loved the pools and ocean. 15 min by bus to downtown. Great.

Basic kitchen equipment was missing like: pot, pen plates etc.
On the ocean, close to services, well maintained and very adequate service and general employee presence. Very friendly and good vibe.
Access to close services required crossing busy streets but partly cultural so need to acclimate.
Nos encantó el lugar, la ambientación, la privacidad de Los Tules, la seguridad y la playa en el condominio. Las 8 albercas son geniales y el trato para facilitar los traslados son estupendos. Los servicios de limpieza y toallas, tanto para habitación como para la playa son perfectos - La villa que nos tocó fue estupenda, nos alojamos 10 personas y fue super cómodo. Super cerca del Aeropuerto y en un sitio sin aglomeraciones ni ruido de vida nocturna. Para una familia grande y con hijos y nietos pequeños fue fabuloso. Lo pasamos genial.
Si no tienes auto o forma de trasladarte, estás algo lejos de la fiesta y buenos restaurantes solo pudimos localizar un par. Otro punto que pudiera no ser muy positivo es que, si te toca una villa en segundo o tercer nivel, no hay elevadores y cargar con maletas se hace pesado. Si viajas con adultos o personas de 3ra edad, es bastante cansado. El condominio/fraccionamiento Los Tules está habitado o frecuentado por muchísimo extranjero de 3ra edad, por lo que, a pesar de que mi familia valoró muchísimo esa tranquilidad, también las reglas de quietud y paz pueden parecer excesivas o abrumadoras para niños y adolescentes. A nosotros no nos pareció mal, pero si pudimos ver a un par de huéspedes desesperados por estas restricciones. Hay muy pocos bell boys!. Prepárate para cargar con todo por ti mismo y caminar bastante a través de todo el complejo.

Nothing. It’s an older resort but great value and great location and a lovely feel.
La ubicación es inmejorable, las Villas muy cómodas, excelente vista al mar, cerca de todo.
