L’emplacement
La chambre, la salle de bain, la douche bouchée et cassée
La cercanía al centro y al embarcadero
El hotel siempre está cerrado, hay que tocar una campana para que salgan a abrirte
It is close to the center of Chiapa de Corzo. That's the only positive.
There is no airport shuttle, though it was advertised in the booking. When I asked about it, showed the booking.com info to the staff, they had no idea about a shuttle. I had to take a taxi instead that cost almost as much as the hotel room.
There was no hot water. None at all. I tried each tap individually, let them run for several minutes each, but not a drop of hot water came out. Showering and shaving that morning were a misery.
The TV made mysterious popping sounds and lost internet connection every ten seconds, so it was impossible to watch TV.
The front gate is locked up all day and night, so you have to ring a bell and wait for staff to let you in and out every time.
And there was only one outlet I could use to charge my phone, and that was in the "closet," nowhere near the bed.
It was better than sleeping on the street, but only slightly. An awful experience.
Le service.
L'odeur, l'hygiène.
La ubicación muy bien, porque subimos a las lanchas
Todo me encanto
Excellent location, near everything but our room was very peaceful. Comfortable beds. Nice staff. Hotel was always locked, but staff were very quick to unlock the gate. Loved the gently used colonial building. Very characterful. Would definitely stay again and stayed 4 nights.
Listing says private parking available. They emailed that it wasn't available before we checked in, but we had booked there specifically because it said parking available. In Fact after 6pm it is easy to get Street parking. They said it was safe and we had zero problems. The listing should just say Street parking usually available.
Please read! I was unsure whether or not to write this review. Our lonely planet book recommended staying at this hotel, so we booked it without much hesitation. It is very close to the boat dock, which made it very easy to arrive in town and facilitate a same day tour. However, when we got in the room, the toilet clogged immediately. When we tried to leave the room, the door knob was broken and we couldn’t exit. I had to yell for help and the staff had to free us. We changed rooms and promptly left for the 2 hour plus Sumidero tour. We stayed the night and everything was fine, the staff were friendly and we felt safe in the room. Here is the kicker. The next day, I went to retrieve my cash from my bag and noticed that I was missing all of it - pesos and American cash. I have reason to believe I was robbed in this hotel while I was gone on the boat tour. Take this as you will but I would reconsider staying at this hotel. Book a day tour from San Cristobal instead.
See above.
Excellent location, clean, large rooms, friendly and helpful staff
-
Only good thing is the location but the town is really compact so it’s irrelevant imo.
Dingy, no amenities in room like enough TP, water, shampoo. A tiny bar of soap. Rooms are tired with tears in curtains etc. Cleanliness is questionable. No one came in to housekeep on my one nt stay. Mosquitos, noisy AC. I don’t recommend this. Better options exist.
Clean and comfortable
I was allowed early check in as I arrived in the morning which is very appreciated
Toilet smell and not good pipes
Toilet was blocked due to poor piping system I believe
Just behind the boat pier, close the markets, restaurants, and 1 block of the square. The room was very clean and air-conditioned, which was working nicely.
Good value for money.
Maybe it was due to the season period, but we had mosquitos in our room, so we couldn't sleep well. Otherwise the staff were very friendly and the owner was extremely helpful. A big thanks for being so supportive.
Very friendly and helpful staff!!
