Pros:

Good breakfast. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Clean property . Well priced. Lots of tours leave from this hotel to travel around the country

Cons:

Decided not to venture outside hotel at night as was told it wasn't safe. Could hear traffic in the morning from my room.

Great value and location
Pros:

Located in a quiet side alley, this bright colourful hotel with pleasant staff is a good base to explore downtown. Spacious clean room with firm bed and spotless shower and toilet. There is a restaurant for breakfast and evening dinner if you dont want to venture out at night to the eateries nearby.

Good quality, well located hotel, ideal for exploring Tana
Pros:

We stayed at Hotel Belvedere before and after our group trip around Madagascar. A good hotel, well located, care at night if walking alone. Good quality food for dinner or breakfast, good views over Tana too. Friendly staff who will help with money exchange, arrange taxis, city tours and guides and airport transfers. Clean hotel, comfortable beds, quiet area too

Disappointing
Pros:

We were persuaded by the positive reviews and interesting photos.
The reality turned out differently.
The hotel rooms were small, uncomfortable, and in need of major maintenance; not to mention the bed, and especially the pillows, which have seen better days.
We may have been unlucky, but our room (and others nearby) had major problems throughout our stay: a constant lack of hot water, and only the kindness of a young receptionist helped.
The staff was also something to discuss; the only redeeming feature was breakfast, but that's not enough to change our negative opinion.
