Hôtel impeccable. Chambre spacieuse. Personnel très professionnel et sympathique.

Toilet couldn’t flush. A guy came to fix it after an hour. But it then couldn’t flush again after a few hours.
Aircondition didn’t work (couldn’t see anything on the remote).
The receptionist didn’t give back correct change
No sounds insulation which is annoying given how many of the rooms are just beside reception and has a noisy street on the other side.
Detachable showerhead and warm water in the shower.
Clean and affordable with a great shower with hot water, good pressure, and a detachable showerhead.
Also has good aircon and power plugs near bed.
Quite noisy from the reception near the rooms and not so private bathroom with only a bug net towards construction site on the roof outside.
The staff was amazing and so accommodating, my schedule kept changing around and they were so understanding

My room was too close to reception, so I could hear every time someone rang the doorbell or talked loud in reception.
A little unusual here, in that I didn’t actually stay although I had a booking, but the receptionist was terribly understanding. The bus from Tana -25 hours- took 7 hours longer than the guidebook said, so instead of arriving at Hotel Serena at 2am, it was after 9am. I hoped to stay a night anyway, but there would be no rooms free. The receptionist kindly let me use wi-fi and phoned other hotels until one was found for me. After a largely sleepless tough journey, that kind of help is much appreciated. And not being charged for the booking is very decent of them, so it would be good to let others know this is a caring place.
