Everything, the place is amazing, they explain the rules from the beginning, the location is spectacular, I wouldn't hesitate to come back, the ocean is beautiful, we didn't even think about eating out, we just wanted to enjoy and relax as much as possible... A magical place
Peace and view
Food was complete overpriced, very simplistic for very high price. not recommendable.
Beach that went for on for miles. Comfortable surroundings without the crowds
Bad coffee. Reminded me of a diner from 1970.
A very nicely designed and laid-out hotel that makes the most of its unique setting on a relatively undeveloped stretch of the Mexican Caribbean Coastline.
The view from our room (Superior Double Room with Sea Views) was simply exceptional… Waking up to an unspoiled vision of coconut palms framing a sunrise over the Caribbean Sea was simply spectacular!
As we were there in low season, there were many times we had the entire beach front to ourselves. The Bali beds (free of charge) were generally unoccupied and provided an amazing place to spend countless hours listening to the waves whilst enjoying a good book - and a cold beer.
Food and Drink was very reasonably priced given the isolated location of the hotel - and the quality was generally pretty good. A big thank you to the team in the kitchen!
The rooms and public areas were always well presented - job well done Enrique!!!
The access road is somewhat challenging in anything other than a 4x4, although achievable in a small family hatchback if you are brave/stupid enough (like us).
We thought it was unfortunate that the hotel would not provide ice nor fridges for guests due to their eco status. Ironically, we resolved this by making the 1.5 hour round-trip to Mahahual for a bag of ice every day, which somewhat undermined the eco-ness of it all. Perhaps some solar-powered fridges would be a nice addition to consider in future.
Also worth noting that although the manager does an immense job of keeping the hotel’s beachfront really clean (crack of dawn every single day) the level of rubbish on the stretches of beach on either side was truly shocking… and enough to make you lose faith in humanity! This is obviously not the hotel’s fault, however it could be a nice idea to provide bins so that guests can do some litter picking if they wish… We would have been happy to help a little during our stay.
The only other negative for us was that the manager came across as somewhat cold and unwelcoming, which is rare in this part of the world. There were times when we were made to feel like an inconvenience, which was a shame.
Despite the above, we would happily come back next time we are in the area.
Avoid at allllll costs. Arrived for a booked reservation and was denied at the door after driving 3hrs. They claimed they sent over an email to confirm the reservation and that was completely false. Also why not just contact us through the phone? Checked my email right in front of the person who was attending us to prove I didn’t receive anything as well. Tried to book at the moment we arrived since obviously there was some kind of mishap but he refused even though they were rooms available. Zero stars for customer service
After posting a review on Google (8hrs later) I was contacted through WhatsApp and yelled at for my review lol of all my years of traveling I’ve never experienced such unprofessionalism. Instead they could have apologized for the confusion and try to make things right and I would have been more than happy to edit the review but no. Only if they had this much energy to confirm the reservation through WhatsApp any confusion could have been avoided.
Cherry on top was this message I received:
“If you have problems in your life do not blame us blame yourself. Thanks for the bad review. Karma will repay you” lmao like what!?
I should have paid attention to all the negative reviews on Google about the owner please do yourself a favor and read them. If I could give them zero stars I would!
The isolation, out there in the raw pure naturaleza
Lodging prices were reasonable, staff were friendly and helpful.
Food was disappointing - watery juices, margarine instead of butter , frozen not fresh fish - and not cheap for that quality.
Very clean, comfortable, quiet and relaxing
Arriving I was a little nervous as it seems so far from anywhere and bits of the road were not so good, but once there, loved it.
The location - stepping from the room onto a white, sandy, palm fringed beach. The staff and owner were very friendly and helpful.
Room 2 was large, uncluttered , nice tiles , Grt bed and large bathroom/ shower ! Perfecto !
The restaurant, pool and outdoor area were beautifully designed and I loved the natural soothing colours chosen for the furniture & design. Food & drinks were excellent.
Nothing !
Amazing location. If you’re looking for privacy in a tranquil place at the beach without buzz and tourists, this is it. Beautiful but also unpretentious. Room was spacious and comfortable. Free parking. Friendly host.
The food was not great, but ok.
This gem is well off the beaten path and worth the drive. Incredibly beautiful and well designed, all the details were perfect. The beach is a living ecosystem so be prepared with bug spray and watch for critters, but it is a paradise on your own beach. The owner is up at the crack of dawn cleaning the beach, you'll have your own private access, the restaurant has delicious food and views. Honestly it's a steal and I'm tempted to keep it a secret.
Having a staff member using a key to come into my suite after I'd checked in, asking to clean was odd but not a biggie.
A perfect place to relax, if you prefer a peaceful vacation. A nice small hotel with a direct access to the beach. It is simple, well designed and maintaned. Very friendly staff, good food. We will return!
