Fantastic breakfasts, lovely rooms. The host is very nice.
Aussergewöhnlich freundlich und hilfsbereite Familie. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker, wir würden sofort wiederkommen.
This accommodation was spotlessly clean. The apartment was huge and extremely comfortable. The host was welcoming 🙏 and looked after us very well. We stayed for 11 nights and breakfast on each day was tasty, varied and plentiful. I would highly recommend this place
Nothing
The place was spotlessly clean and a very nice quiet environment. Big rooms and very comfortable.
Breakfast was simple but adequate and tasty.
It would have been a nice addition to have Tea and Coffee making facilities in the room.
We really liked the location of this accommodation. It is at the end of a cul de sac up a quiet road, very near to the Vodno hills. Very peaceful at night and didn't hear a thing. Really comfortable extra large bed which was great and room was very spacious. It was like two large rooms. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Car parking and WiFi was excellent.
We planned on getting taxi's into Skopje but although the hotel owner rang a few, none were interested in collecting us. It is about 20-25 minutes down hill to walk there though so not too much of an issue. Had no problem hailing a taxi back when we needed one.
Breakfast is not the best (very dry bread, soft cheese triangles, orange juice, filter coffee, muesli and cornflakes)
The location was excellent. We walked to the center of Skopje, to the old quarter over the stone bridge, and to Bit Pazaar. The breakfast was phenomenal, excellent omelettes, coffee, fruit, meat etc. The couple that run Villa Vodno are very friendly and are happy to answer your questions.
Everything about Villa Vodno was good. A tiny mini-fridge in the room would be a welcome addition for keeping water cool etc. Nothing else to add.
The area is green and very quiet; apparently a lot of embassies and staff (as well as the President's residence) are situated in the area. The room we had was large and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but well prepared.
Maybe it's just that we were the only guests, but the Villa felt more like the hosts' home than a hotel; you share the outdoor patio with the hosts, which most of the time means that you must put up with billows of smoke and a very negative and opinionated host (we found that many Macedonians are conservative, but he's a little to he right of Attila the Hun)...It's an uncomfortable situation. There also is no coffee-making apparatus in the room, and getting coffee before breakfast was problematic. Apparently you're supposed to drink it only with a meal; they're not used to our North American caffeine consumption. Upon our arrival, we were served a meal which had been prepared for another guest who was there for that first night; it was generous of them to include us, but we were charged for the wine we drank on our final bill. Fair enough, but we weren't told at the time. Similarly, we were told we'd be met at the airport, but NOT told we'd be charged 20 euros for the ride. Finally- though the weather was fine and warm, the pool was not open; we were told it would be in a couple of weeks. All in all it was a nice enough stay, but could have been better, and we won't stay there again.
Wow. What a great place to stay. The location was close to the center but tucked in a very quiet treed neighborhood. The owners were wonderful generous people. I enjoyed my time with them as much as anything in Skopje.
- Wonderfully kind and friendly hosts
- Most comfortable bed and pillows in Europe
- Easy, safe parking for motorcycle
- Excellent breakfast
- Large room, would be great for longer stays
- Great lighting in the room
- Large bathroom and shower
- 30 minutes walk to downtown
- Quiet neighborhood
Overall, it was extremely welcoming and comfortable. I would return again.
The location is a huge advantage of this accomodation. It lies on the hills of Skopje, in a quiet elegant district. The bed was super comfortable with memory pillows. The hosts are a nice, friendly couple. The breakfast was delicious. Parking in the garden, the center is 15 min by walk
A quiet location close enough to the city center to be walkable, far enough away to be away from the noise and business. The hotel is in the hills above the city in a very nice neighborhood with a lot of houses used by people in the local embassies.
There was really nothing bad about the stay.
