Pros:

Really impressed with the stay. The room and bathrooms are fairly modern and very tidy/clean. Several shared bathrooms that were also quite clean each time (stayed during long weekend). Shared kitchen had fridge and kettle which were also good. Highly recommend for those who will visit Mt Taranaki nearby,or who is just passing by. Will stay myself in future too.

It was everything we needed it to be.
Pros:

We chose the lodge for its location. We drove up from Wellington on the Saturday. Stayed overnight in the Lodge then picked up a new dog from Lepperton (about 15 minutes away) the following day then driving back to Wellington.
The dinner at night was excellent. The young man who checked us in, was very friendly and efficient, showing us all the facilities and getting us an extra towel and a remote for the TV.

Cons:

A pity that breakfast was not available on the premises despite the advertising saying it was. However, we were shown the cafe directly across the road which had an extensive breakfast menu and served a great breakfast. They opened early too.

Pros:

had a room with a shared bathroom and those facilities were amazing, super clean and spacious

Cons:

the kitchen wasn't too bad, but don't expect anything big, but they do have a great bar and restaurant as well

All good, but better to have fan in toilet

All the staffs are super nice and helpful! They gave me a lot of information about where to go and what’s fun. Btw, I really love the old school fashion window 🪟🫶🏻

Beautiful, well kept, clean and tidy old hotel with all the old fashioned fittings, etc. Loved it
Pros:

Restaurant was closed for the duration of my stay unfortunately. I liked the location of the hotel, ease of checking in and the facilities provided. The room and bathroom were very clean and tidy. It was also very quiet and affordable. For a trip back in time.

Cons:

Could have had a heater that was a bit quicker at heating the room up and slightly brighter lighting.

Good value for money
Pros:

Very central, friendly staff. A little hard to find a place to eat out breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings but eventually found a very busy cafe bar. loved the car boot sale across the road from Fen lodge on Sunday morning. !
