Aqua Vista Monchique Hôtel

Es gibt absolut nichts auszusetzen.

Das Frühstück und der Service insgesamt war OK. aber immer etwas imprivisiert

Location is inappropriate for low season holidays as there are no cafes or restaurants open in the area.
Facilities were appalling.
Breakfasts were inedible.
Only one young inexperienced member of staff attempting to run the whole hotel including cooking, cleaning and communicating with guests despite very limited understanding of English language

B/fast was a disaster both days.

B/fast starts quite late at 8:30. You would think with a late start, everything would be well organised. You would think but you would be WRONG!

Day 1 came down at 840. 10 mins later, the guy on reception who seems to do everything brought out plates and bread basket (not great choices). 5 mins later we get a small plate of meat and cheese. We are then asked if we want some scrambled eggs and bacon. He disappears for 45 mins and the delivers the absolutely worst plate of solid scrambled eggs i have ever seen, with a piece of a stalk of a mushroom and a quarter of a cherry tomato; a single piece of thin streaky bacon, and a piece of doughy bread. Inedible. The only good point is that it was a tiny portion (how do you mess up scrambled eggs?! Though if there is any building work going on, they can at least use the eggs to repoint the brickwork).

There was cereal (cornflakes) - no milk or bowls though so mo idea how you would manage if you wanted cereal.

No tea (herbal infusions are hot fruit juice not tea). You would think a hotel would know that!)

A small selection of set yoghurts. No tea spoons - just dessert spoons that are basically the same size as the yoghurt pot opening.

The hotel provided a steak knife as cutlery. Try applying butter or marmalade with a steak knife!

Second day was even worse. We came down at 830 because wanted to check out and this time nothing was out. The bread arrived at 840 but the jams did not arrive for another 15 mins later. No cereal out this time! we declined the scrambled eggs this time fearing we might die of old age or IBS if we decided to partake

Clearly hotel believes b/fast should leave the guest wanting to drive to town and eat there.

Why the b/fast is not self service is beyond me! There is absolutely no reason for the absolutely crappy experience. Every other hotel on this holiday bar this one managed to make b/fast efficient and filling.

Horário do pequeno almoço, 8:30 para que vai a trabalho é um pouco tarde.

Nous avons été accueillis par un jeune garçon qui était unilingue portugais et qui n’avait pas du tout le « look » d’un hôtelier. On a réussi à se comprendre grâce à un logiciel traducteur mais c’était un accueil non professionnel. C’est au déjeuner que tout s’est compliqué. Aucune table n’est montée….. il est 8:30…..On ne sait pas ce qu’il y a à manger……Il n’y a que 3 chambres occupées et personne ne vient nous voir . En attendant, on prendrait un café mais il n’y a aucune tasse à côté de la machine….Finalement, on nous offre soit un grilled cheese ou des œufs brouillés ou du granola ! Il faut tout demander…… ce n’est pas normal ! Le manager Steve s’excuse mille fois mais on ne sait pas pourquoi! Le service est très amateur !!!
