A pleasant stay in the centre of Longyearbyen.
Pros:

This is a very cosy hotel located in the centre of Longyearbyen. The room was large and provided a lovely view on the Mountains. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The extensive breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of tasty options. There is a spacious lounge with comfortable sofas and a fireplace in the hotel lobby.

Cons:

Not much storage space for clothes.

Gemütliches Hotel in zentraler Lage
Pros:

Tolles Hotel, zentral gelegen, direkt am Anfang der "Haupteinkaufsstraße". Vom Flughafen aus verkehrt ein Shuttle Bus, der die wichtigsten Hotels abfährt und auch direkt am Svalbard Hotell | Polfareren hält. Am Eingang muss man sich die Schuhe ausziehen und kann diese entweder in einem kleinen Schuhraum abstellen oder mit auf's Zimmer nehmen. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Der Bereich um die Rezeption ist gemütlich gestaltet. Man kann sich auf die Couch oder in einen der Sessel lümmeln und sich am kostenfreien Kaffee und Tee bedienen. In der Mitte des Bereiches sorgt ein abgeschirmtes Feuer für Behaglichkeit.

Unser Zimmer hatte alles was man braucht. Toll gestaltet mit einem Wandposter von Spitzbergen und zwei Sesseln. Das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen. Es gab sogar glutenfreies Brot (auf Nachfrage) und Lachs.

Cons:

Das einzige Manko waren die Matratzen. Sehr dünn und sehr weich. Bei dem Übernachtungspreis und dem Anspruch des Hotels wären ein paar ordentliche Matratzen eigentlich zu erwarten gewesen.

Nettes Ambiente, mit freundlichen Personal bei einfachen Komfort bei sehr hohen Preisen
Pros:

Die Lage und das Ambiente im Haupthaus war sehr angenehm, das Frühstück war gut organisiert und das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Cons:

Der Aufzug war die ganze Zeit defekt und trotz Reparaturversuchen blieb er das auch. Einige Installationen im Zimmer waren defekt, so die Dusche und der Duschknopf, der jedes Mal auf meinen Fuß gefallen ist. Es wäre doch sehr schön und auch sinnhaft, einfache Reparaturen durchzuführen.

Good location, can improve service
Pros:

The location is good within walking distance to Coop store and mall. The rooms were clean and just sufficient.

Cons:

The breakfast was basic with not many options. The coffee was less desirable. It would have been good to have a coffee machine in the common area to get some hot coffee with milk after being out in the cold. The coffee provided was hot but the milk was cold :(
